I thought this was a great mini-series. There were a few points where I literally laughed out loud at the antics of the characters. Having not read the book yet, I found one or two little things that I didn't really understand but it didn't spoil the overall enjoyment.

I have nothing bad to say about this. I loved the costumes and settings and intend to watch this many more times in the future. It is also the reason I have bought the book, which otherwise, I probably wouldn't have bothered with.

What a great film this is. Not really about war but the way people are treated by their `comrades' and the system if they want to be honest and ethical. It is quite frightening the pressures put onto to `whistleblowers'. This film illustrates this magnificently. Well acted and worth seeing. People do not want truth it seems; deception is preferable as it does not upset the apple cart.

I was expecting great things from this film , given the actors appearing in it , but I am afraid it failed to live up to expectations . It was very hard going , and you have the feeling that the people were in it only to get another pay day . One of the stars I have given it is only for the fact that Christina Ricci is in it . If you are a fan , then watch the far better films such as The Opposite of Sex , Buffalo 66 , Desert Blue , or Pecker .

Why on earth isnt the old 1987 version available????? Everytime i think of Becky Sharp i picture Eve Matheson.(only sometimes fully dressed) The new one is a sad, pale, miscast, rubbishy attempt.
