Cold Feet is one of the best british made shows ever-bar none. I watched series 1-4 when it was first shown on ITV and I bought this complete collection mainly to see series 5 as I never got to watch it[was working away]and what a trip down memory lane it was. I had forgotten how funny and heart-breakingly sad it can be.The cast is truly superb.Special mention must go to John Thomson as Pete.That bloke cracks me up and have loved him since his Paul Calf 'Fat Bob' days. I only recently thought I'd give this series a go, mainly because of James McAvoy, who sadly departs the series after season 2. I am now moving on to season 3 and see myself still being glued by the time I get to season 5. I still miss the character of James, but the rest of the family are so hilarious and 'real' that it's difficult to leave this Manchester Housing Estate until I have to. You may feel the same.

The Royle Family has got all the elements needed for a good comedy. There's a busy do-it-all (Barbara), a lazy, hypocritical slouch (Jim), a mother that would avoid her baby at all costs (Denise), a dim-witted, loving father (Dave), a work-aholic (Anthony) and an annoying, yet lovable, grandmother (Norma). The ability to relate to nearly every character is what makes this sitcom so popular. The absence of the audience laughter track is a welcome change, as it makes you feel as if you're there eavesdropping on them. Well, I watched this on telly and wanted to buy this for my collection. I have been a customer of Amazon for 7 years and I had never made any complaint and I have never returned any goods. I have also shopped online from several other companies. The delivery company Citylink is simply a disgrace for such a reputable company like Amazon to use. Shameless is probably my all-time favourite with each series managing to live up to the one before. The storylines are always strong and the acting excellent. (One or two of the actors have gone on to big things). Basically it's a good laugh even though some of the issues are serious. It's anarchic, hilarious and very near-the knuckle. (Too near for some!) There is a fantastic range of dysfunctional characters who mostly live off benefits or crime. Whatever else, they know how to party on the Chatsworth estate. Scatter!

I absoloutly love this comedy. I can't believe you are actually sitting at home watching someone on TV sitting at home watching their TV! At first I thought "A family watching TV! How boring!" but how wrong was I? It just goes to show that you really never should judge a book by its cover. I loved this and own all 3 series and was estatic when I leared Caroline is writing a Christmas Special. The best thing about this is that everyone knows a family like the Royles. I screamed with laughter over Denises "Mam - tell him!" because thats all my sister and I used to say to our mum when our dad wound us up! Bit disapointed with the quality of the DVD but the series choosen where fantastic and i have to say made me laugh till the end. If you have not seen all the Series of the Royal Family then this is a good starter for you
