To some people, Alan Partridge may be just too odious to watch. Tommy Saxondale is a nicer guy, just a bit of a plonker at times. So, this may be a comedy for some to appreciate the talent of Steve Coogan.

I think Tommy Saxondale is his best character since Partridge. Maybe there is some of Partridge in him, or is that Steve Coogan !

I am a big fan of Alan Partridge so was pleased when this new character came along. I thought the first series very good, and the second, even better. Just wish it would come out on DVD.

One particular episode I had to watch in three different parts because it was so depressing.

When you think you're low, this one shows you that there is still way to go

A comedy that begins brilliantly and is well sustained up to the shoot out in the garden centre, after which it becomes too plot heavy and the humour fizzles out. At its best when it is at its most surreal and most desolate (i.e. in the first half).

Horror movies fulfill an important role in many adolescent kids' lives as they both are obsessed with sexuality and death. So why not write a spoof series that give tribute to Hammer, Amicus and Tigon films?

The problem is that really this another attempt at "Coogan's Run": an unpredictable and uneven anthology comedy series. Just like " ...Run" Coogan plays multiple roles and, inevitably, the quality of the episodes varies.

One constant high point is Coogan's eponymous narrator. He is crude, cruel, snobbish and perverted;he also has his bad points. Actually his kinky and surreal monologues are often the best part of the shows.

The opening "Fearing" episode is a patchy spoof of Amicus anthology horror films and a little ... Read More:

If your a fan of Lenny Henry like me then this is for you. The DVD features all eight episodes of the "In Pieces" series which was on BBC a couple of years ago they all are funny. Its worth buying the DVD just to see the Uncle Lucas ('I remember you...') Psychiatrist sketch. There is not many extras (Only about 15 minutes of out takes) but it still is a heavy DVD.

Follows our hero's integration into the team of stunningly bright social misfits manning an Australian observatory. All the characters screw up in their own special ways, from episode to episode, but no one has to be predictably the loser every time, not even our hero, despite his pathetic efforts to win the love & lust of his fiercely competent colleague, that's the one engaged to a psychopathic astronaut... A great mixture of interesting characters, with science, sex, and the pub,.. oh, and a lurking risk of death. Quirky, but excellent.

Just watched the 6 part series on BBC2 - great fun and I can't wait for the extras that will be included with DVD.
Best charcaters by far are Terry (Steve Edge) and his culinary son Malky (Ceallach Spellman)but the whole cast is very good with loads of very funny moments and one - liners.
Anybody who has ever been involved in competitive kids sport will love this.
