Really good film but I would probably not recommend getting it on Blu-ray as the way it is shot does not lend itself to HD. Sound also quite annoying as speech is very low volume so when you turn it up to hear it you get blasted by the action sequences when they arrive.

Must admit I would recommend the film as it is an extremely good watch. Just question whether worth getting the blu-ray version.

Whatever else that can be said about CLOVERFIELD, one thing's likely to be consistent among words used to describe it : it's different. I've just watched the DVD and I reckon I could trash it, or I could say it's "OK" or I could even rave about it. That's not to say I can't make my mind up, or that it depends on what mood I'm in. It's just that pretty much every description of it can be taken seriously, positive or negative, and they would all count. There is no definitive verdict for this film.

The most talked-about aspect (I suppose) is the apparent use of a mobile or hand-held video camera for the entire length of the film. At first I found it a nuisance, and the best I could say is that I eventually tolerated it, but there's no ... Read More:

DVD : Cloverfield (2 Disc Special Edition)
Like the Matrix 10 years ago Cloverfield has set a new standard for action cinema. Movie snobs often dismiss genre movies like this one as low brow. But the genius of Cloverfield is it's structure; the whole movie is an exercise in keeping an audience on the edge of their seats and it works. Every time it looks like things couldn't possibly get worse they do, then just when things look like they've calmed down a tad the next shock hits. None of which sounds that impressive, until you see just how well it's done here.

Although there's nothing oscar worthy from the cast the films is buoyed along by some convincing performances and humor in particular is played just right: it's funny but not so funny that you relax. The story pulls surprisingly ... Read More:

The only thing that came out of this movie for me, was the fact that I really must read reviews, etc.. before I choose a film to watch!

I never liked this film at all. All I kept saying to myself the whole way through was 'why?'. The film really had no content and it did nothing for me, except make me wish I had never bought it.

This is just my opinion. However, if you are concidering buying this movie, please don't waste the extra money buying it on blu-ray. Buy it on DVD, as the visuals were really not impressive at all.

Personally, I would have given this movie a half a star rather than a 1 star, but I am unable to. And, I really cannot see how people would like this. Overall, very disappointing.

DVD : Miracles: The Complete Series [2004] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
'Miracles' is a little gem of a series. It only ran for 13 episodes before cancellation in the US, but it looks amazing, the quality of the episodes is very high, and the final episode ties up enough ends that, although you'll be left wanting more, it isn't exactly a cliffhanger, and it isn't going to keep you wondering unbearably what-happened-next forever. The pilot episode on its own is a haunting piece of filming worth the price of the box set.

The series treads similar ground to 'Sea of Souls' in the UK, focusing on the investigations into the paranormal of Paul Callan, disenchanted former miracles-investigator for the Church, parapsychology academic Alva Keel, and ex-cop Evelyn Santos. The three leads are great, compelling ... Read More:

This film is so sweet you could just cry, David Schwimmer plays a character similer to Ross the one he is best known, but that fact dosen't matter concidering Ross is the best choice for this film. Gwenyth is this woman who is noticed by David at a funeral, who he has just been happened to been invited to without haveing any idea about it, a classic amusing story, with loads of laughs, loads of tears, loads of treasures!

DVD : The Pallbearer, Romy and Michele's High School Reunion, Fools Rush In [1996]
If you're anything like me and can't get enough of the whole "Friends" phenomenon you'll love this video box set! Ok so fair enough none of the films were box office smashes but they are all very entertaining and highly enjoyable to watch. "Romy And Michelle's High School Reunion" and "Fools Rush In" are definitely feel good movies, though the humour in "The Pallbearer" is perhaps slightly darker it's still well worth watching if nothing more than to see the very talented David Schwimmer in perhaps a more diverse role than his usual Ross Geller in "Friends". For those who haven't seen any of the films before it's worth buying them in the value friendly box set and for those who have seen them before they really are the sort of movies you can watch over and ...
