I cant write a positive review of this film because I didnt think the characters where that interesting, there's little or no plot and its not compelling viewing in the least.

However, I think it has to be seen to be believed because of its bewildering strangeness.

The film begins with a scene of a man in what appears to be a studio telling you what are the ingredients of a dream, throughout the movie it cuts back to this scene and I think perhaps its meant to be his conscience, the point is its not clear at all.

It could as easily be a dream state because frequently throughout the movie the central character and others cut back and forth between dreams and reality, some of the dreams are clever but ... Read More:

Quite simply this is a very original, creative and funny film and as such is a refreshing break from most American comedy. Michel Gondry is a very special director who relishes quirky ideas and creative visual effects that are usually achieved using everyday, mundane items. The visual creativity and comic whit in this film is endearing and everyone I know who has seen it really enjoyed it. I find it hard to understand how people couldn't enjoy this film.

Yeah, "Eternal Sunshine" is a mess, but what a sweet and beautiful mess it is. It might be quite a difficult watch for some, but ultimately rewarding if you invest enough time and patience to sit through. Somewhat reminiscent of an Andrei Tarkovsky, Wachowski Bros, David Lynch and Christopher Nolan film, our protagonist Joel bounces between twisting realities under a highly non-linear narrative structure.

As I always say, fragmented storytelling is not a cinch. Rather, it is a high-wire act. On the page, it might read well; but on the screen, if you don't put everything on proper places, you will run the risk of losing the viewer pretty quickly. Thankfully, that doesn't happen in "Eternal Sunshine" due to the magical touch of two talented mind-gamers: ... Read More:

Gondry has this wizardly combination of cool ideas and a real feeling for the music he's illuminating. Highlights for me are Beck's Deadweight - which is full of haunting and humerous images of dislocation - and Chemical Bros' Star Guitar - which perfectly maps the tune onto a hypnotic view of industrial suburbs from the window of a train.

When I play it on my PC, the DVD freezes after I select an option from the menu where he's playing drums (though you can get round this) - hence four stars instead of five.

I was looking forward to this film, being a fan of Michel Gondry, but was sorely disappointed. This is a half-finished Charlie Kaufman idea, padded out into a film by Gondry. My experience is, Gondry is a genius so long as he's either collaborating or not working in feature length. Science of Sleep is another of his directorial let-downs, wheras Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is wonderful. Don't let him steal over an hour of your life people! Get Spotless Mind instead and watch some real cohesive artwork.

First, a quick note for Blu-Ray fans... don't bother paying extra for HD. Visually this film is doesn't impress and is not noticably enhanced by the format.
Unlike other reviewers I won't trot out the rather linear plot. Suffice to say Jack Black struggles with an unfunny script as the rather predictable and ridiculous story unfolds. In a somewhat pathetic way the film pays homage to community but if your moved emotionally by this then you're probably pregnant! (No offence meant hormone sisters!).
All in all it won't kill you to watch it but I can't see why you should waste your time on watching such a sloppy piece of work let alone buy it!

Lost In Translation is my favourite movie of all time. its so original. its moving, funny, and although very slow moving in parts, worth sticking with to the brilliant, although mysterious, end. Bill Murray and Scarlett Johannson are superb in their roles as two people lost in the city of Tokyo, unsure of what to do and how to find their place. They are searching for that one thing that is missing in thier life..fun. You really care about the characters because they are so in depth, and the film really focuses on this and their relationship.

Eternal Sunshine is a clever, original and fantastic film, with great performances from the typically excellent Kate Winslet and Jim Carrey, proving he can be a serious actor when he wants to be. Although confusing in parts, if you love ... Read More:

The Chemical Brothers have been gracing the music biz since 1993, and this is a celebration of all their videos and live appearances with 9 interviews thrown in for good measure. So is this worth getting?

Lets start with the 9 videos here, all of excellent productional value. My favourite being Star Guitar, because I have found myself stairing out of train windows and seeing the pilons go past to the beat of the song I was listening to, so when this came out I thought it was geinous! Other classics include the black and while Life Is Sweet, which features The Charlitains frontman Wayne Coyne. Other ones you shouldn't miss include Setting Sun, Block Rockin' Beats and Hey Boy Hey Girl, with it's tale of a girl breaking her arm and seeing skelitons. One thing you will notice ... Read More:

When i first saw it on Amazon i was a bit sceptic but decided to buy it any way, man its good. I don't have any other music Dvds but this one is so good, if you even like daft punk a little bit buy it it's well worth a few quid, i love. The only down point is i can't use the mulitiple camera angles on my Ps2 but even with out this feature it's still super and well worth it.
