Sick of people who take mecha anime too seriously? Tired of hearing Shinji Ikari whinging? You need some Nadesico!
Beautifully animated and with a suprisingly strong plotline, this is a cracking anime. It's also hillariously funny!
The spaceship Nadesico is rather strange in crew, a flirty secretary, an anime voice actress, a cold natured child genious, a crazy pilot who's obsessed with mecha anime and captain who can't seem to take anything seriously!
Akito, the male lead is a cook from Mars, he doesn't want to be a mech pilot, but it just seems to happen to him.
Bad points of the series though, are as follows:
The American dub is so bad that I can't stick it for over ten seconds. For your own good I suggest you ALWAYS ... Read More:

I've said before in some of my other reviews (not only ones on amazon, but elsewhere too) that I'm not a big fan of anything that's romance related or slightly gushy, but DNAngel really did cut to the core of me. In a good way though.

The animation is nice and clean without too much repitition, character design is accurate to that of the manga and each episode has a nice story to it, wether it be stand alone or in with the overall story.

It can be kind of confusing sometimes but it's easy to get your head back on track with what's going on, so you're not exactly going to loose all the plot by not understanding something as you should.

The chracters are fantastic also. Daisuke is adorable and clumsy and quite funny, his family ... Read More:

I held off buying this movie for three years. I'd loved the Nadesico series which was hilarious and dramatic and imaginative but read some reviews of how it was different to the series and how not all the characters were portrayed as they should have been and how it lacked humour.

I shouldn't have paid the reviews any mind.

As usual with this being the movie of a series, the animation is superior to that in the original series and very good indeed. That's the first good thing.

Although as some reviewers mention, there is a gap between the end of the series and the movie (two years I think), it isn't really an insurmountable problem. It's only like going from the Star Trek TV show to Star Trek the Motion Picture or from Ghostbusters to Ghostbusters 2. The characters are ... Read More:
