Ireally enjoyed "New Tricks", the only complaint is that it was over too soon, I kept looking in the box to see if there were not another disc that I'de skipped over.

Having enjoyed the first series (mostly) I looked forward to watching the second series. Sadly, although the first 3 episodes weren't too bad, from episode 4 onwards it was all downhill. The characters became predictable and the quality control on the plots disappeared. Sadly I bought the 3rd series with the 2nd. I won't be buying the 4th.

Sorry about the title but it seems so apt - "After it, therefore because of it". I first saw this series when first broadcast way back when and I remember it being brilliant. However I have, in similar fashion, bought other series and programs from my dim and distant past released on DVD and been bitterly disappointed when I watched them (testament to a fading memory or a desperate attempt to cling on to my childhood). One or two exceptions (Edge of Darkness and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy being most notable) kept my faith. So, I bought it, unwrapped it, placed it in my DVD player and instantly lost the next 4 hours of my life! It is quite simply the best British TV drama the BBC has ever produced! this is a must-have dvd for fans of good comedy. What a laugh and it has some more serious issues as well. all round a good family comedy box-set.

I've just finished watching the first two episodes of this second season. The print to DVD transfer seems much cripser and cleaner, and the audio is much clearer (although still in mono). The character dynamics are more dramatic than over with Sylvia's heavy hand in full force, and a new character Hillary adds a youthful charm to the team. If you liked the 1st season, it only gets better.

I was so excited to see that, when I checked (without much hope) to see if this series had been released, to see that it actually had been! After all, I've only been waiting more than a decade...I loved these charactors, loved the series & look forward to seeing it again.

A wonderful poignant Movie. Full of typical scouse humour. Very much in the style of Willy Russell. You will laugh and cry in equal measure. Fine perfomances by the leading actors/actresses.

I missed this when it was on TV but I was really glad I bought this dvd. Snap it up as its still very Cheap - it may be Cheap but its High Quality Martin Clunes who does a fine job as ' Doc Martin ' and ' Julie Graham from ' At Home With The Braithwaites ' need I say more ?

"Heat of the Sun" is one of those mystery period-pieces that I wanted to go on and on, and, alas, it ended too soon. One suspects that cost had something to do with its sudden demise, given the African settings and the exotic thirties' costumes. "Heat of the Sun" is the perfect series to watch on a cold winter night. Trevor Eve makes an excellent Scotland-Yard-detective-in-exile and Susanna Harker is lovely as the young aviatrix. The mysteries are excellent, the characters are fascinating, the settings are magnificent, and--Oh happy day!--Diana Rigg is still on hand as presenter (in the PBS edition) to tell us about Colonial life in Kenya's "Happy Valley" and the notorious Muthaiga club. "Mystery" simply isn't the same without her!
