Very brief..If you don't watch films with subtitles then you may be a tad taken back as this is in Dutch and German(with English subtitles) as it should be, the original language being the best to convey the atmosphere ... I'm a massive war and history buff,and allowing for theatrical and poetic license, this is an excellent war film that should be seen by anybody who has a genuine or even half-serious interest in the genre of war... Excellent acting, plot pacing,,and more..I would say anybody who liked Saving Private Ryan or Band Of Brothers would appreciate this from a different point of view...Highly recommended.

When I first saw this I thought the film was pretty silly, but now that I've seen it again I see why it's a true cult classic! Paul Verhoeven of Basic Instinct fame has a strange sense of humour. I love the fact that the film is set mainly in Buenos Aires, and the casting for this movie is perfect. All the actors are "robot-like" in appearance, like they've all had facelifts (they probably have). If you're tired and want a bit of mindless fun, this movie will do the trick.

Robocop is one of the finest action films of the 1980's. Robocop 2 and Robocop 3 never live up to expectations and don't have the same dark atmosphere. They are worth owning and watching if you have nothing better to do.. I paid £7 for the box set so I am more than happy. Robocop - 5 Stars Robocop 2 - 2.5 Stars Robocop 3 - 2 Stars The set deserves 4 stars overall.

Paul Verhoeven's now cult sci-fi classic is undoubtedly a guilty pleasure, what with the B-movie parody, the gruesome (and it has to be said, spectacular) slaughtering and mutilations of the troopers by the alien bugs and a small amount of gratuitous nudity thrown in for good measure. By any standards this blu-ray 16:9 transfer is quite staggering in its tremendous clarity and quality and a joy to behold in HD. The enormous amount of work that went into the digital effects and model-making etc was not showcased on the DVD release but on the BD is shown to be of a higher quality than many more recent releases. This is a disappointing disk and is very reminiscent of when DVDs first came out. These first issues were similarly diabolical with no extras. You either bought a Region 1 DVD or just waited for a decent conversion. The film starts with pseudo TV which is intentionally of poor quality, I thought this is what previous reviewers were referring to. Sadly not. The picture quality of this Blu-Ray disk is very inconsistent, at certain moments the characters are crystal clear but the next scene the whole shot is grainy and ill defined. I have watched a lot of DVDs on the PS3 upscaled and they look a lot better than this Blu-Ray disk. Seriously avoid and watch an upscaled DVD which a) is no worse quality Read More:

Even Kyle McLauchlan distanced himself from his role in this movie. It is nearly as bad as watching the last hour of Casino. The whole movie is trying to be something else - Studio 54, Thelma and Louise, and other Kings of the B grade. If you are getting this for the sexual content, best avoid and head for the adult section.

9 and 1/2 Weeks is a good movie made by a great director. Showgirls is a silly, fun movie. Wild Orchid is easily the worst movie i have ever seen. No joke. It is laugh out loud bad. As a M.Rourke and a 9 1/2 weeks fan I am astonished that Rourke and the once famous Jacqueline Bisset (Bullitt- S.McQueen) appeared in this soft porn, badly made movie. Director Zalman King's should have been arrested for crimes against Cinema-goers after the movie's release. Rourke stars as an aloof gazillionaire named Wheeler who longs for the human touch. Carre Otis is Emily,a naive,virginal American high-flying Lawyer who knows six languages (but can't act) and Jacqueline Bisset is Emily's scheming mother Claudia. The Starship troopers films have often been called `modern b movies' however in my opinion they are good films to watch when you just want to see stuff get shot up! As far as HD films go these are fantastic in full 1080p and I didn't notice a single point where my player #HP Media Elite PC# skipped or where the image appeared sub par of HD. Fully worth getting all three films in a box set #considering the price# with my personal favourite being the first with its original concept, the second and third are also good films looking more into the development of the `bug' species and even a `God' bug half the size of a planet in the third film. Final thing to note this film is an 18 for all the right reasons and I highly recommend this film isn't sold/given as a present for anyone ... Read More:
