I had no idea what to expect from this movie, but the trailers looked interesting. This movie is an interesting angle, making a superhero with all too human floors. What you should not expect is a Marvel or DC comics movie, probably much more of an all American feelgood movie. Will Smith gives a good performance as our misguided superhero with a good supporting cast and good effects, makes for a nice easy watching movie.

I completely disagree with the other 2 reviewers... this movie was by far one of Will Smith's better movies in recent years.. he hasnt produced many.. whereas I-Robot for example - it was similar to other movies... but hancock was good because Will Smith played a role that he was good at... comedy...

the film starts off well showing the political ties between the countries over the years , then comes the terrorist bombing and again its well done then its over to the fbi headquarters and i found this stage of the film up until they start investigating the bomb site in saudi arabia a bit boring and jumping from scene to scene following the different characters is always confusing {i found it far easier reading the subtitles }.
i found the way this is filmed very similar to black hawk down and if you liked that film you will love this one , once the fbi and saudi police start tracking the terrorist it gets very tense and exciting and i won't spoil anything but the last 30 minutes of this film is utterly fantastic and some of the action ... Another celluloid abortion from Hollywood dead-weight director Peter "teeth" Berg as he destroys the book based on this true story. Clearly Berg spent time analysing good movies such as 21 Grams and lifted a few sporty ideas from Oliver Stone's Any Given Sunday and Teeth Berg came up with this contrived garbage whereby young Texan football players are approaching their football games like they were about to enter a war and get killed.

With music and camera work lifted from '21 Grams' Director Berg makes us endure 2 hours of celluoid depression. The book is good, but this movie is liquid depression. Watch Any Given Sunday instead; it was directed by a real film maker - Oliver Stone.

What a howler. Is there a minus star rating ?

This was a complete flop, one of those cinema moments that should be buried in concrete away from prying eyes. What were the film makers thinking. Awful story, wooden actors. (You may guess i didn't enjoy it)

Walk on by !!

Yet another quasi-epic celluloid abortion by a flag-sucking American racist director Peter TEETH Berg, which has the super-human Jamie Fox gallivanting around Saudi Arabia with other FBI agents (vapid plot), spouting war-wisdom and trying to infiltrate a terrorist cell, and all the while it implies that America is good and everyone else is not, particularly if they look Middle-Eastern.

By the end of this racist drivel the movie itself becomes such a flag waving rah-rah show that it's like TEAM AMERICA with real people and taking itself seriously.

Meanwhile, (in almost every scene) the eye candy (Jennifer Garner) looks on longingly while clutching a massive machine gun and looking delicious..

I have seen just about everything on blu ray and this was incredible, the scenery, the non stop action and a bit of humour here and there. One of the best blu rays I have seen so far. 5 out of 5. well worth the £7.
