This film was highly recommended to me - what a mistake - it was so boring I fell asleep - the acting was good - I love William Hurt but the story was awful - forget it!

Whilst William Hurt is superb in this film, the main reason for recommending it is, that I believe, it should be compulsory for all people entering the medical profession to watch it.The story portrays an arrogant consultant (Hurt)who shows little regard for the feelings or fears of his patients.He then becomes ill and finds himself under an equally arrogant consultant. The effect of this experience is life changing for him, his staff and his patients. His new methods of training junior doctors, as a result, is inspired !

Surprisingly good Romantic Western made for cable TV. A widowed Christian woman,Rebecca Yoder (Naomi Watts)takes in a wounded drifter and nurses him back to health,little knowing that he is notorious gunfighter Johnny Gault (Timothy Daly). Great subtle performances from the beautiful Naomi Watts and Tim Daly (an actor too long underrated). Story,direction,cinematography and score,beautifully handled. DVD is excellent quality,Picture format is 4:3, extras include filmographies of principal players and an interview with actor Tim Daly. For those who appreciate a romance or good western, in all a great purchase.

i'd always been a fan of Richard's while never being a great fan of any one particular movie until I saw this piece of brilliance. As of writing this, I actually haven't seen this film for over 8 years. I did, however, watch it about 5 times when I was in possession of the laserdisc. With a cast including Robert Duvall, Shirley McClaine and newcomer, Sandra Bollock, it touched me in the way that only a few films ever can. If one of the reasons you love Midnight Cowboy is because of the beauty of friendship it captures, then this is another that will make you treasure your closest of friends. I suggest that you read some of the beautiful reviews on the 'imdb'. I hope and pray that this title will be brought out on DVD so that I can BUY IT! It is available ... Read More:
