I watched the whole of the original X Files when they were first on TV and loved the series. I have just purchased (and watched) the X Files movie and have to admit that it has re-kindled my love for this series. The film is as good, if not better than I expected and I suspect I will now start buying the whole TV series. So, if like me, you haven't watched the X Files for a few years, I can recommend this film. I loved it.

The film starts off with great promise - the early scene at a commune with two group leaders putting on a stage show for the kids - Star Wars instead of Shakespeare! This brings humour and humanity in the very early stages. You get a sense of the warmth and the protective responsibility these people have for the children. The community `motto' about always watching the skies is a jarring reminder that there's a horror to this film.

Within minutes you care about the community and feel genuinely very concerned for them, and the arrival of gung-ho Americans upsets the balance. Unfortunately the vulnerability of the community and the feeling of concern isn't recreated throughout the rest of the film - the focus turns to big guns and action.

Im a huge stephen king fan and couldn't wait for this to come out. Not all the stories are horror but most are creepy and tragic. 'Battle ground' was the best and 'the fith quater' was probably the worst. Some episodes are more miss than hit, but always entertaining and there is something for almost everyone. Each episode is quite different, there is some great acting, great special fx and always enjoyable. All in all, this has some really unmissable episodes and a particularly creepy one named 'road virus heads north'. A neat and entertaining series, perhaps the best £25 i ever spent!

Jennifer Garner reprises and expands her role from Daredevil as as assassin for hire who becomes protector of a girl (with a secret) and her father. It's better than I was expecting from it's largely risible reviews. In fact, I was pretty much entertained throughout. It looks good and doesn't outstay it's welcome but the best thing about it is Jennifer Garner, who can kick my ass any day. I'm an Alias fan and thought 13 Going On 30 was way underrated, so I shouldn't have been suprised that her presence would elevate this film in my eyes. Without her it would have been 2/5, but with her it's a 3.

My experience with Quantum Leap: I watched it a few times as a kid and I loved it. A couple of years ago I started buying the Dvds. Let me tell you that: The first season (with 9 episodes I think) is very very good. While not all episodes are excellent, it's an almost must-have season.

But after that, my god the series gets sooooo boring. I currently have watched ALL seasons, and I have to say, buy the first one but do not have high expectations for the rest (2-5). They are predictable and boring to death. Too bad too see a really good series to get ruined by weak storylines.

I bought my set from Direct Offers for 2.21 plus 1.24 postage via Amazon marketplace - it arrived shrink-wrapped.

So I've already seen X-men 1-3 at the cinema and looking forward to seeing them again. All watchable.

Just watched Fantastic 4 and it was a fun movie - not exactly challenging, but keeps going at a nice pace. Fun stuff.

My only reservation on buying this boxset was that I had read reviews saying that the director's cut of Daredevil is so much better than the original version - then when I open this set I find that it is the director's cut that has been included.

So, haven't watched this or Elektra yet, but already feel like I've got my money's worth and much more.

I watched a DVD of this on a normal size TV a year or so ago, and wasn't that impressed.

With a projector and something that can play the maxed out 4.6Mbit/sec LPCM soundtrack, parts of the Blu-Ray are simply astounding. It's no masterpiece - the plot is full of holes and the song at the end is awful, but who cares when you can feel the dragons land in your lap?

Cristian Bale proves again that he is a fine actor, at least during the earlier parts of the film in which I felt he gave a great portrayal of a leader who lacked certainty and had lost his way. Bale does much of his acting with facial expressions in this film, and the high definition here makes it much easier to see and connect with that.

So, for me, a film a lot of people look down ... Read More:

DVD : Day Break: The Complete Series (REGION 1) (NTSC)
Perhaps the concept of a day repeating over and over again until the hero finally gets it right may echo the Bill Murray comedy "Groundhog Day," and the elaborately constructed conspiracy narrative may be derivative from dozens of paranoid thrillers we have seen many times over, but "Day Break" somehow takes these two disparate ideas and smashes them together to fashion a 13 part science-fiction thriller/murder mystery. The result is never less than enthralling.

Taye Diggs earns his TV show stripes in the lead role of Detective Brett Hopper, evoking the confusion, vulnerability and macho posturing man of action theatrics the part very much demands of him. His arena is that of Los Angeles, and the events of this tumultuous day play out with different outcomes and with different ... Read More:

This film has to be one of the coolest i've ever seen. It has an interesting and original story line along with some amazing roller blading stunts. The film was both humorous and exciting for me and i would recommend this film to anyone who is into skating. I also loved the soundtracks by Diesel and Jeremy Jordan which i think helped make this film a sucess.
