I loved the original Mummy movie -it was rip roaring, silly entertainment that didn't take itself seriously and was all the more fun for it. I was excited for this one and approved the move from Egypt to China/the choice to create a new Mummy to keep the franchise getting stale.

Shame the end result IS stale. The dialogue's cheesier than ever but less witty and self aware, the fabulous John Hannah is demoted by the writers to the poor and unfunny comic relief with a set of really atrocious gags that are unworthy of him, and gamely as Maria Bello tries Rachel Weisz is missed. You no longer care about these characters as you did in the first movies - Rick and Evie are now just nauseating, their son has zero charisma and the new characters ... Read More:

fast cars, pretty women, high speed chases, guns, explosions and only the first of the trilogy! But the first is the best!

Vin diesel plays his role as a hijacker/crime boss/street racer/ father brilliantly. Paul walkers undercover cover is less belivable but still the driving scenes, the cars and the pretty women are more than enough to distract you from his poor performance.

As the title suggests this film isnt going to challenge the mind, its street racing, gang warfare and criminal intent interlaced with semi naked women and high speed pursuits.

Well worth owning its enjoyable to watch, the race scenes are good fun and the story is plausible!

DVD : Dragon - The Bruce Lee Story [1993]
My one-line summary couldn't have really stated it any clearer. "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" is just that, a story. It's like a fairy tale you'd read to your kids at night before they go to bed. You could tell them about the legend of the greatest fighter who ever lived: Bruce Lee.

Bruce Lee is my favorite martial artist and one of my heroes (which sounds cliché by now, even 33 years after his death), and this movie makes me wonder that anything is possible. As an aspiring writer and (perhaps?) martial artist myself in Korean Hapkido, I always think, "If Bruce could do that, then certainly so can I." I try to live by one of the aphorisms written down in his "Striking Thoughts" book on goals, "Make at least one definite move daily toward your ... Read More:

In the late 1990's there was a small spat of disaster movies that all came out with about a year of eachother. Daylight is the (unjustly) forgotten one which gives us a group of people trapped in an underwater tunnel following a toxic explosion. Making matters worse the place is falling apart around them and waters gradually seeping in.

While Stallone actually contains himself quite well for his role, its the lead female whom makes the film for me. Amy Brenneman is completely believable with her fear, annoyance and disbelief in her situation and makes the journey very entertaining. The stunts are good and the effects are done well - although I have noticed in the big explosion - no one is actually in any of the cars that get blown up!

i bought this movie on a whim and to be honest i didn't have great expectations but i was pleasantly suprised if you are looking for insightful movie making this is not the film for you if you want to be entertained by
big explosions on the other hand you wont be disapionted.
the story revolves around three american navy pilots who fly the most advanced fighter bombers in the world, set in the near future these all american flyers are joined by a new addition to the squadron in the shape of a robot plane who through the course of the movie goes rogue and threatens the world. the heroes are forced to take on the super plane and save the day and then each other, but the plot is not the strong point of this film .
the action comes thick and fast and ... Read More:

Ok, so the film isnt the most intellectual (I had to look up the spelling of that so I guess I'm not either) but its great ride. However the quality of this film is stunning. Its my first HD-DVD and it looks fantastic, the only image quality I've ever seen that gets near was when I saw Finding Nemo at the Odeon in Leister Square when it was being shown digitally.

Worth buying just to show off your new system. Just need to convince my partner we need a new 46 inch 1080p TV in the front room and I'll be sorted.
