This is a superb film based upon the exploits of a group of Black Pilots who as an experiment were sent to Tuskegee Airfield to train to be combat pilots and the various obsticles that they faced.

Laurence Fishburne is superb and is joined by several black actors who add warmth and an interesting contrast to the film.

there are some truly memorable moments which make this movie stand out apart from the fact that it is based on true events.

For anyone who is interested in War films but also the struggle for equality then this is a must for your shelf.

I'm a non-mountaineer who has no desire ever to become one, but I found this film totally compelling and most moving. I defy anyone not to weep at the scene where Rob Hall speaks to his wife as he lies dying.

I have seen it three times now, and have read the book upon which it is based, and others. I appreciate that the film may be a partial view, based as it is on one man's account, and I agree that at times it can be confusing, but the story and action are so strong that they carry you through.

As most of the audience won't be expert mountaineers, and as anyone interested can find out as much as they like by reading the books, I think this film is an admirable success.

You'd be forgiven for thinking that no Black men or women were even remotely involved in the Second World War so little attention is paid to their contribution. Having read 4 (count 'em - 4) books about said contribution in the First and the Second World Wars I've long found it strange how rarely their presence is acknowledged in 'mainstream' films. For this reason alone 'The Tuskegee Airmen' would be worth seeing if it weren't for some excellent performances from the leads. This film is for those looking for one of the many 'lost' chapters in the history of those terrible conflicts.

Amanda is 15 years old and arrested for murder she is a user of street drugs and alcohol, a prostitute raped by a family member and married. All this before her sixteenth birthday, this film was BASED on a true story, and I believe that's the twister in this film. Based on a story, probably means that many scenarios were added to spice it up. Although I have tried to research this film and came across some information that is contradictory. I tried to find out about executions carried out in Oklahoma and also Amanda's execution. Oklahoma has never used the gas chamber for executions. Electrocution was used from early 1915 til 1966 using, Old Sparky. Electric chair since 1977, the prescribed method is lethal injection. This film reminds ... Read More:

Although this version of The Great Gatsby should be congratulated for staying true to the original work, for me, it missed the point entirely. Whereas it should have been a visual feast, most of the scenes seemed bland and colourless, and Gatsby's parties lacked any of the real vibrancy that was Fitzgerald's triumph in writing the novel.
Furthermore, some of the acting and transitional scenes between memories and reality seemed almost clumsy, and Nick's monotone voice-over was frequently used as unsatisfactory device to pass vaguely over crucial elements in the themes that made this story great.
Mira Sorvino's casting as Daisy Buchanan was good, but frankly it is hardly difficult to portray a character so well defined and simplistic as ... Read More:
