This is really a must, you have no excuse why you have not seen it yet. So:
If you are gay you probably have it already. You may need it, however, if your VCR can't read the worn out tape any more. If you don't just get one asap. You will wonder why on Earth you did not buy it earlier and ask for more. Fortunately, there is the US version as well. It may not be quite as good but it is veeeery long.
If you aren't gay the best solution is to order it as a gift for a gay friend (if you think you haven't got any gay friends you probably have been lying to yourself since you turned 15 or some of your friends have been lying to you which is even worse but this series may help you understand why and change your ways) and have a sneak preview ... I purchased this version of Pollyanna after reading the five star recommendations on Amazon but was bitterly disappointed. The actress who plays Pollyanna was awful, she held her mouth open all the time with her tongue between her teeth - most offputting. More worryingly, she couldn't act. Many of the storylines were a complete fabrication and not at all based on the book - in particular, the romance between Nancy and Tim and the whole episode with the motor car. Nancy should have beeen about the same age as Pollanna and not 10 years older - by contrast, John Pendelton should have been around 35-40 (he had been in love with Pollyanna's mother), not 55-60 as he appeared on the film. Aunt Polly and Dr Chiltern should have got married at Pollyanna's bedside ... Read More:

I dont understand the other reviewer who said it shouldnt of been shown. People get murdered every day but they dont stop crime programmes. Anyway, this drama was gripping tv. I really enjoyed it. And the performances for the cast were brill. I especially loved Bradley Walsh in this. I felt so sorry for his character.

And to be honest, I think a programme like this will bring hope to parents of missing kids everywhere. Never give up on your kids. They are out there, somewhere.

This drama draws you in from the beginning, with its complex mix of emotions.
You never know who to believe or trust.
Truly gripping and edge of the seat stuff.
This is British TV Drama at its best.

Lively but unlikely, could not make my mind up whether it's because of the cast combination or the plot or both but was so uninterested at the end that fast forwarded the first series (I got it on DVD rental) and cancelled the sequel

A British Series only available on NTSC???
The one star rating is not for the content, but for the boadcasting system, that should be available for Europe...
