This is a Marmite product; you will either love it or hate it. I love it! The series touchs taboos and boundaries but fundamentally creates some wonderful dysfunctional characters. Kath - the wheelchair bound, MS sufferer Don - Her breast obsessed GP husband Jill - Completely off the wall, Machiavellian, alluring, psychopathic Linda - Jill's long suffering asthmatic assistant If you like The Worst Week of My Life, or the Office or Extras, this will probably appeal.

series two of nighty night truly went for it,more adult,more obscene,more over the top and in doing so lost some of its comical edge,but is still miles better than the more mainstream rubbish that appears on television. Series two carries on from where series one left off,but is set in cornwall where husband don and wife cath have fleed to start again and get away from the evil clutches of jill,again played brilliantly by creator julia davis,a witch that few can draw comparison too,the lies she tells,the way she manipulates and prods at peoples weaknesses and of course her generosity,as in she buys someone a gift and then says ,we will square up later or it gets nasty is pure gold and one of her catchphrases that sums her up best. I was dissapointed with this. Ricky spends hours setting up annecdotes with unfunny payoffs. The audience laughs between jokes for no reason but i laughed very rarely. This srand-up is interspersed with Ricky visiting locations from his past and laughing at stuff with his friends, jokes we arent really let in on very much. not a patch on the realist style of humour he displays in the Royle Family.

This is filled with comedy from beginning to end. It is not just Ricky Tomlinson making you laugh its a whole range of comedians/comediennes which Ricky is taking part of the audience. My favourite bit is when the commedienne talks about her trip to the hairdressers listen out for the terrible accent!!! I would recommend this to anybody! Its hilarious!
