This installment to The Shield saga is just as good as the others have been. Right away you are introduced to the IAD rat Kavanaugh, who is only as brilliant as he is detestable, and unsurprisingly excellently portrayed by Forest Whitaker. Kavanaugh relentlessly pursues the Strike team for their numerous misgivings throughout the previous four seasons. Vic, Shane, Lem and Ronnie seem to have put all differences behind them at the start of the series, but as Kavanaugh sinks his teeth into every potential lead, the team suffers, and the always loveable Lemanski is exposed. based in the "Farmington"distrcit of los angeles, the shield is a gritty cop drama. lots of action, sex and drugs this show is compelling viewing. good cops, bad cops and then the strike team this show has everything. although many people may see vic mackey as a dirty cop he is keeping the streets safe in his own way which causes problems for everybody else!!! throw in a cast of different cops and you have the wondeful world of the shield

Not many series that started out great can keep the high standard in later seasons. Well, neither does the shield. It just keeps getting BETTER. Unique acting abilities (I'd give ALL the cast OSCARS for their performances) combined with the best story writers in history, this is the BEST SERIES EVER. AN ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE!

the second season of the shield starts 4/5 weks after the first season ended. vic mackey's personal life is falling apart as his wife has disappeared with the kids!!! this season sees major changes for all the characters and some new faces on both sides of the fight. throughout the season the strike team are trying to get their hands on their "retirement" fund, which is mostly dodgy dealings which they are known best for. great writing, great acting and the real life feel is still there!!!

Its wonderful to watch the original series where Buffy, Xander, Giles and Willow are introduced. The episodes on the DVD are stunningly sharp although there aren't that many special features.

My favourite episode is The Puppet Show. Sid is a great character and I can understand why they used him in the game. I also like the season finale.

Definitely worth buying!

Usually i dont like hospital dramas so when Grey's Anatomy came out i wasnt very interested. However, one day i desided to watch an episode and was instantly hooked! i realised that its NOT just another hospital drama!

Plus, if nothing else, the eye candy is definetely something! From McDreamy Derek to Alex the intern, the guys on this show are seriously HOT!
My favourite program, i was so happy when i found out you can get the first and second series on dvd (i missed most of the first series!) It really is brilliant!

DVD : Nip/Tuck: The Complete First Season [2004] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
I heard about "Nip/Tuck" and since it was about plastic surgery, I avoided watching it. I appreciate the importance of plastic surgery in restoring the looks of patients, but am less enthused by cosmetic surgery to improve personal appearance, mainly because I do not consider being pretty or handsome to be that important (being neither makes it an easy position to hold). But more importantly I avoided taking biology in high school and college because I was not going to take a scalpel and start dissecting a frog (or worse). I still remember the anti-smoking film I saw in health class and how everybody freaked during the lung cancer operation. It was not taking out the diseased lung, but the bit where the surgeon cut into his chest that had everybody gagging. But several students ... Read More:
