Do not expect an intellectual and highly educational film. It is not. It is a sentimental comedy, all in all. You will learn that you cannot trust old people who are ready to commit a crime whose guilt will be attributed to someone younger, and that only because they want to make some money to expand their old age pension slightly. You will learn that you must not trust appearances and that what looks pretty dead is nothing but alive and what looks pretty alive is nothing but wax or stuffed artifact. Larry needs a job to prove to his son that he is not justall hot-air.So he gets at job at the large Natural History Museum. Sounds a pretty tame job? Yes, maybe but not if your the night guard. Alone in the mueseum where things come alive at night. The beginning of the film is slow and I almost wanted to ask," Shall we stop watching this?" But it soon livens up. Its a reasonable film, with a few gags and edge-of-your-seat kind of stuff. One little Point: One thing that grated on me was the usual stereotyping of dad being dumb and mum having everything together.

This review is from the DVD so the real difference there are no extras Ben Stiller is thrown in at the deep end when he get a job as a nightwatch man at the museum were all the exibits come to life even the dinosaur bones. Ben Stiller is great in this film it is very funny and the speical effects are great but mostly done by computer. Many famous faces appear one most people will know for Mary Poppins but he is far older now.(Dick Van Dyke) If you like Ben Stiller you may enjoy this film but even if you're not nyou nmay enjoy it.

Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) a dreamer, an entrepreneur and an inventor is in-between income opportunities again. This would o.k. except ex-etux (Kim Raver) is under the impression that he is a drifter and a negative influence on their son. Realizing she may be right it is off to serfdom. After a frantic one day search he lands a position as a night guard at the museum. He is handed instructions and told not to let anything in "or out." Getting to the point takes some time in this movie but it is necessary as we are watching a balance between a serious parent child exchange and an almost, o.k. a slapstick quasi animated movie. You won't be at all suprised to find that this film is very different from the originals. For sure it's more family orientated and there's no Sellers, but even still, it is a good all rounder. There are plenty of laughs and the film is much better than all of the Pink Panther remakes and spins offs since Sellers untimely death. The DVD also includes many extras including deleted scenes and featurettes. There is plenty in this film for die hard fans and people new to the series. The whole family will enjoy!

I watched this film on TV the other day. It is absolutely DIRE! The story - a loving, likeable, young couple get married and go through a disasterous honeymoon, then split up on returning to America. Will they get back together? What do you think???!! Typical scene - the couple spend the night stuck in their car in a snowdrift at the edge of a cliff. In the morning, they manage to pull themselves out, then throw a snowball at a passing car in the hope that the driver stops and offers to help pull their car out. The driver, an old woman, reverses into their car, pushing it off the edge of the cliff, raises her middle finger and drives off. If this happened to someone like Basil Fawlty, it would be funny. Ever lied?? Well, if you have maybe you ourt to have a look at this DVD. It tells a story of a small boy named Jason. He one days gets a drve in a limo, with a flim produer. Jason, drops his essay that he was supposed to bring to school. then monty makes a flim about it, making the essay the flim's point of view. This DVD also has amanda bynes in it and being a fan oh her TV show, THe amanda show, she shows all the stuff she puts in the amanda show here. I think that this DVD is, funny, but only for chlidren aged 9 to 12. eventually people will get bored of it though if it's this funny i don't think people would want to watch anything esle!! I would recommend this!!
