Death Note 2:The Last Name(based on the hit anime and manga) starts after the end of the first. Now the game is higher than ever Light and L and working on the same playing field and who ever and the one to lose...will die.

Once again the acting is great Light and L and great in this and Misa was even good (a suprise to say the least)even minor cast were great. The only problem some fans of the manga and anime will have is the ending is new but the makers were told to have only two films they didnt have the time to do the whole story.

Thus we miss these two from the manga: Mello and Near (N and M) but that isnt a big deal.

So any Death Note fan should check out both films they are a treat!

Death Note is a live action film based on the hit manga and anime of the same name.

For a start it stays true to what its based off there is some great acting.

Light(The villain/anti hero of the story) is brilliantly visualized and as for L well the same can be said only even better!

It does change some of the plot (its a film and it doesnt have time to play with like the manga or anime)but its done right and even a fan wont know what happens next!

Well worth it fantastic version of a great series.

Despite the success of Azumi the makers appear to have cut back on the budget for this sequel and as a result we get much less in the way of innovative action and a LOT more of wandering around in the forest.

The story picks up not long after the first with Azumi and Nagara still going after the warlords intent on seizing Japan. She soon meets a rowdy young rebel called Ginkaku who looks a lot like her dead boyfriend Nachi (a weird plot that goes absolutely nowhere) and joins forces with them to fight evil.

Some nice fight scenes follow but they use waaaay too much CGI blood effects (a horrible trend that is becoming more and more popular) and none of them have the eccentric flair of the original movie. The ending doesn't amount ... Read More:

A lot of Asian movies can often lose something in the translation because of cultural references that western viewers may not get and a difference in taste as far as story and pacing. Azumi on the other hand is easy to watch and to follow. It's great fun and has plenty of action and has the feel of a Samurai comic book brought to life.

While certainly "bloody" I wouldn't call Azumi "gory", the blood is just part of the action in the same way as a gunshot is bloody in an American film.

Watch it, you won't be dissapointed.

DVD : Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack [2001] (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This 2001 godzilla feature is a visually impressive and actionfest core Godzilla fans will love. However be prepared for this movie as Godzilla is no accidental hero in this one, he is proper mean and his eyes look so devilisly insane that you might think this is a different Godzilla altogether.

The main difference is that this Godzilla is seen killing people, but the history of the monster has been rewritten (a common practice with these ongoing Godzilla sequels) to make it relevant, and thats where the problem lies. But we Godzilla fans dont really care about the story, its the action that counts and this movie certainly delivers in that environment.

Godzilla takes on Baragon, a slightly redesigned Mothra and King Ghidorah (here reinvented ... Read More:

Shusuke Kaneko achieved the impossible here, he improved on the stunning Gamera 2: Attack of Legion, which itself was a notch up over Gamera: Guardian of the Universe. From the start the tone is different, it's still a monster movie, but not since the original Godzilla has the destruction of people and cities seemed so personal, they are not filmed for spectacle alone although they look stunning, they carry resonance, the effects shock and carry the story along allowing us sympathy not only with the human protagonists but also with Gamera himself ( would have liked to have seen more of the underwater grave of past Gamera's ), it seems absurd to say so of a man in a rubber suit, but the story and Kaneko's attention to the situations makes Gamera as fully fleshed out a character ... This was my first real monster movie and it was'nt what I expected (That doesn't mean it's bad). The plot slowed down the movie since you don't see Gamera till about 30 minutes into it and he doesn't fight till half way through. However, the fights between Gamera and the legion monster are the best parts; they're slow but for a classic monster movie they're good. Now, the plot may slow it down, but if you like scenes were the people talk after evey battle to develop characters or think up stagey then this is for YOU!!!
And, in conlusion, I think this movie was good and the ending was also very climactic.
