DVD : Dexter: The Complete Second Season (REGION 1) (NTSC)
As soon as i finished watching season 1, I ordered this region 1 dvd from amazon.
The first year bowled me over as a piece of great, original television unfolded before my eyes. I wasn't sure it could get any better, but it did.

Season 2 takes us on a more complete journey into the minds and lives of the characters. The show stays true to what made it so good, but adds greater depth and creativity; everyone seems to be on a mission to find themselves, or are at least trying to recapture who they think they are.
Dexter's life becomes much more complex as his web of ever increasing lies constantly threatens to come undone and wreck the lives of almost everyone. A special mention should go to all the suppoting cast, especially ... Read More:

As others have mentioned, this film has been woefully marketed as a comedy drama / romantic comedy - but if you're looking for a film full of cheap gags and laugh out loud moments you're way off track here...

That said, the marketing is pretty much the only thing wrong with the entire film.

The performances are brilliant, particularly Zach Braff and Casey Affleck, and the vast majority of people who watch will find a character to which they can relate.

It doesn't sugar coat issues, not every character comes out of this smiling that's for sure. It's real - people make stupid decisions and others get hurt. It pulls few punches. You find yourself willing characters to make the right choice - do the right thing - invariably ... Read More:

Jane (Ashley Judd) is an intelligent, attractive woman satisfied in her job on a daytime chat show, working alongside the apparently insensitive, womanising bachelor Eddie (Hugh Jackman). Diane Lane feels as though she's walking on the moon after riding in Viggo Mortensen's bus and falling for his charms. But then she finds she's treading on her family and has to decide what she cares about most. There are some very moving scenes in this film and all the best ones involve Anna Paquin (acting as Lane's daughter)who has lost none of her skill as an actress since winning an oscar for her role in The Piano in 1993.I love the cinematography in A Walk On The Moon and the whole film looks and feels as though it was set in the 1960s.But all the life-decisions that have to be made and the problems that the main characters have to deal with are relevant to people today.Liev Schreiber (who plays Diane Lane's husband)puts in the best performance in the movie as his ... DVD : Dexter: The Complete First Season (REGION 1) (NTSC)
This series is probably the best thing I have seen in the last 10 years!
It REALLY IS THAT GOOD.
Without going into the whole thing, its pure collective quality.
From the amazing edge of your seat drip drip drip of suspense that makes this snowballing monster of a story rumble toward you at brake neck speed
Everything clicks, the stories interact and melt together and the characters mould into the plot as it spills out across the screen.
I spent a whole night watching this from start to finish - ending up still perched on my sofa at 4.30am in the morning inhaling briefly as I started the final episode.
If you love clever, not over the top, careful and calculated storylines which rely not on "seen-before" special effects or out dated over used actors and ... Read More:
