I was honestly not expecting much from this film. The storyline looked pretty depressing but I still felt like I was missing something so I decided to watch it. How happy was I when I'd finished watching it! It was a great and heartwarming film with good performances from the cast and a comic stance which I loved! I'd really recommend this film to anyone who wants to see someone enjoy the time they have on earth as much as they can.

I'm a really big Jlo and although it's not her best film I really enjoyed it and you can tell Jen put all her heart into it as the film is based wheres shes from, I had never heard of Ralph fiennes until I head watched his film and he is a great actor I know this is off track but he played even better as voldmort in harry potter 4. Buy this movie if you want a relaxing night it's a great film and Ty is sooooooooo cute

Harvey Keitel may have run off with what plaudits there were for this hidden gem of a movie, but for me it is the performance of William Hurt that infuses the film with it's thoughtful, mellow, non-idealogical flavour. There are a couple of scenes which Keitel and Hurt perform memorably together, one involving a collection of photographs and the final scene of the movie which is 'Augie Wren's Christmas Story' originally written by Paul Auster, and the creative spark behind the writing of the script. If you were to watch these two scenes alone I'd still recommend buying this film. The dialogue is sharp and the direction leaves the actors to act, allowing them time to deliver as much with body language as with the spoken word. ... Read More:

This quirky companion piece to Smoke is unconventional and mainly improvised, which is why I love it so much. My favourite films are generally those that make me laugh and that I can watch again and again without getting bored. By fulfilling these criteria, Blue in the Face is therefore in my top ten. Harvey Kietel is of course brilliant but the cameo players are a delight - Jim Jarmusch is especially wonderful; I can't watch an action movie the same way now I've seen his description of how actors treat their guns. John Lurie and his Orchestra are also well used as buskers outside the shop and Lily Tomlin's loopy act as a waffle obsessive is fab too. Even Madonna's good in it. Rent or buy this, you won't be disappointed.

I watched this film with my grandchildren aged 4 & 7, boy and girl. They were enraptured as was my little dog "Codie". The young actress who played the part of Opal was enchanting and the dog "Winn Dixie" captured our hearts. I haven't read the book but this film makes me want to buy and read this story. It has a wonderful charm and the characters are sometimes eccentric, odd, loveable and eventually pull at the heart strings. I recommend this film highly especially but not preferably as a family film and feel people of all ages will enjoy this feature. Please make more like this there's enough pain and heartbreak in the world without seeing it on celluloid.

This film, initially discovered part-way through on a rare French TV showing, must certainly rank as one of my favourites. It is one that I can watch over and over again without feeling bored. Everything is great in this film - the actresses, young, old and even the small children, the beautiful scenery, the emotions, a few comic moments to relieve the tension and definitely not least, the wonderful music. The final scene never fails to start a tear welling in my eye. I don't know if it is a faithful representation of the book which inspired it, but it stands up on its own two feet as a marvellous piece of cinema. I would certainly recommend it.

I watch films that are supposedly for men only and women only, but still failed to really enjoy it.
