My children have always loved the Teletubbies and I bought this particularly for my daughter (18 months).

The readers of Mother and Baby magazine voted for the 10 best episodes and the top 10 Teletubby moments, and what a great choice they made. Dancing bear, animal parade, noo-noo tidying the tubby custard, Little Bo Peep and her raucous sheep and my absolute favourite. . . . Penelope Keith as the bear with brown fuzzy hair! Worth buying this DVD for that moment alone!

DVD : Teletubbies - Uh-oh! Messes And Muddles [1997]
This is a title that is a must have for a true Teletubbie fan.
The fantastic four spill gallons of Tubby custard, leave the
Dome in total chaos, but the Noo-noo comes to the rescue to clean
up. Your child will enjoy the custard scene as well as the cloud
filling the dome. Tinky-Winky at his best..Noo-noo has his work cut out...a keeper!!!

DVD : Teletubbies - Again Again! [1997]
Unlike the other Teletubbies videos/DVDs my son has seen, "Teletubbies - Again Again!" took quite a while for my 2-year-old to get into. There are a few sequences that don't hold much interest for him, such as the bit where Laa Laa asks the others to play with her indoors (they want to play outdoors). However, there are two sequences that he has grown to love, namely Dipsy doing his special dance (my son has developed his own version of Dipsy's dance and it's quite a sight to behold!) and the clip of children making playdough. It's the pull of these two sections that keeps my son watching the whole DVD, even though it has been known that he may leave the room (never happened with the other Tubbies videos/DVDs) - this mostly happens if the "Teletubbies ... Our one year old loves this video, and on the millionth play you start to appreciate the little things. The little girl who's truly possessed (COME ON FOLLOW ME INTO THE GARDEN!!!!) and Tinky Winky's vallient efforts in remembering the dances (check out the first dance when he stops ages before the others) and his stumbling about in a tutu.
I don't know how they hold a little person's attention, but they do. Top stuff.

DVD : Teletubbies - Meet The Teletubbies [1997]
It's really very sweet having an extremely positive and loving atmosphere. The teletubbies are not grown-ups and probably not even human so they have to learn everything from the beginning. They can't even speak like grown ups which seems to be no problem for children, egging them on to experiment with their own syllables and sounds. (Children are always drawn to charachters that resemble children.)
It's slow moving and gentle, which may be boring and incomprehensible to adults but is benficial for small kids who are often overwhelmed by the imformation overload, with lots of repetition so inexperienced minds have a chance take it all in.

The only My son needed for the set. He did not move out of his seat for the whole video. Excellent use of colours and one of the best ones. Plenty of learning material and does not repeat material as much as the newest video.

My ten month old (fussy eater) daughter loves this dvd. It keeps her enthralled and sat in her high chair whilst I'm feeding her instead of screaming and thrashing to get out! She's even started to express preferences for certain dances and waves hello and bye bye to the teletubbies. Look out for the skirt dance!
