this is one of the best films ive seen all year....for the people that have only voted this 3 stars or less...has problems. the effects are amazing and the storyline is good, i ave watched it twice in 2 weeks because its that good.

Tell you what, this film was AMAZING! The CGI was so detailed and realistic (well.. as realistic as giant transforming robots can be!). I originally rented this on DVD, but got it on Blu-Ray earlier this week. I'd never compare this to the Back to the Future trilogy, but if you liked those films, you want some amazing scenes and some all round fun, this is definitely for you.

I resisted going to see this film at the cinema as it didn't seem like my cup of tea. But after a colleague kept going on about how great it was, I gave in and watched it. I wish I hadn't bothered. I really cannot see what all the fuss is about. Now, if you've read any other DVD reviews of mine, you'll know I do like superhero films, sci-fi films etc. But Transformers really left me cold. It didn't keep my interest at all, but I had to watch it through to the end just to see if it got better. I'm afraid it didn't. There's no doubt that the special effects are impressive - but I just thought this comic book origination didn't translate well to screen. This film was one I'd been waiting for and loved every minute in the cinema, which I believe was the best cinema experience I've had to date. It was great to relive it on DVD when my brother bought it to see it for the first time, but now that HD-DVD is more accessible in price I knew it was something I had to do, and I don't regret it AT ALL. Absolutely stunning visuals show just what this 'dead' format can do. Every scene has new life as each grain of sand, freckle and piece of flying debris looks so good you can almost feel it. A must for any HD collection and now even more worth getting since the price has halved from the initial RRP. 6 out 5 stars :)

I wasn't sure about getting this box set since even in the 80s, I found G1 to be dull. But then I guess that was because I wasn't trying to relax and cheer up at the time. These days I try as much as possible and I found this box set to be enjoyable. The packaging style isn't great, but it's functional and that's better than nothing. There are extras which consist of interviews, animation blooper reels and more. Nothing special to be honest and a tad outdated by now, but still it's the thought that counts. The episodes themselves have the original animation, flaws and all, and it makes the series so endearing. All the original themes are there, the original voices and the original characters. I think that the reason why Transformers has remained such a huge success for nearly twenty-five years is reinvention. Hasbro have learned to change with the times, and because of this, we've been treated to such refreshing, innovative variation over the last several generations. Generations 1 and 2, Beast Wars/Machines, Robots in Disguise, Armada, Energon, Cybertron and the live-action film franchise. You can examine any version of Transformers, and the odds are you're in for a real treat, be it toys, books or an excellent animated series. So now, after all those series, and the live-action film, we have (by my count) the TENTH incarnation of the Robots in Disguise. Hi there! Just to let everyone know that this is indeed Series One of the NEW series of Transformers (2008) and not the 1984 version as stated above. It certainly made me worry before it arrived yesterday but all is well. I have watched a few of these before on kids TV and can assure you they are good - different but still oh so gooooooooood! :)
