Ever wonder, who is Santa Claus, really? Where does he come from, how old is he? How in the world does he squeeze down a chimney, and how does he get in if there isn't a chimney? What's the deal here? Well, happily, the answers to these questions and more are finally answered, as the legend of Santa Claus comes to life as never before in `The Santa Clause,' directed by John Pasquin and starring Tim Allen. Scott Calvin (Allen) is an executive with a toy manufacturing company, he's divorced and has a young son, Charlie (Eric Lloyd), who still believes in Santa, but is at an age at which doubt is beginning to creep into the picture. And the fact that Charlie's mom, Laura (Wendy Crewson) has a boyfriend, Dr. Neal Miller (Judge Reinhold), who is a psychiatrist, ... Read More:

After watching Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas(which I thoroughly enjoyed),I decided to also buy it's sequel(being a lover of all things Christmas and Disney).

It was only when I bought it,I realised it was computer animated...
(This was also the first time the Disney characters were seen in 3D animation).

'Oh here we go'...I thought to myself.

I usually find that when Disney uses computer animation(apart from Pixar, which is obviously brilliant),it takes the charm out,so I really dreaded seeing how awful this was probably going to be.

But...I was pleasantly surprised!
I actually thought that the computer animation added to it's appeal and made Huey, Dewey and Louie look even cuter than usual!

I LOVE this movie!! It was one of the first Disney christmasmovies I`ve ever bought, and I watch it several times every year.

My favorite is "Mickeys christmas carol", it`s just the ultimate christmas movie. When Scrooge wakes up on christmas morning, takes a walk around saying merry christmas to everyone, and in the end where he delivers lots of gifts and food for poor Bob`s family, it`s awesome... :) I`m not that big a fan of the build-up around these short movies, mixing the new clubhouse stuff with old classics, but that`s such a tiny, tiny little piece of this, and it`s not THAT bad. "Pluto`s christmas tree" and "The Nutcracker" are also great classics. I think your inner child has to be well dead and buried ;) if you don`t like them just a little ... Read More:

Premise: Scott Calvin has been Santa Claus for the past eight years, and his loyal elves consider him the best Santa ever. But Santa's world is turned upside down when he's dealt a double whammy of bad news: not only has his son, Charlie, landed on this year's `naughty' list, but if Scott doesn't marry by Christmas Eve, he'll stop being Santa forever. Desperate, Scott turns to the elves' new invention - a machine that can replicate anything - to create Santa II and he leaves his double in charge. Things quickly go south at the North Pole when Santa II institutes some strange redefinitions of what's naughty and nice; worse, when Scott finally falls for a potential Mrs. Claus, she threatens to drive a wedge between him and Charlie. In a climactic battle pitting ... Read More:

Lovely opening credits with a snowy scene leading to the House at Pooh Corner, leads into reminiscence of an earlier Christmas, then into an older film where Pooh has forgotten to add his request to the Christmas list. I prefer the older cartoons. The voices are much better. Then another newer film. Not very long but gives you a warm fuzzy feeling no matter how old you are.

This DVD is basically 47 minutes worth of nothing new. It simply contains footage of winter scenes from 3 or 4 other disney films with commentry in between. It's not worth the money in my opinion.

What a disappointment. I bought this DVD with the expectation that it would have Christmas stories and help our 3 year old get excited about the big day. No such luck. She so completely tuned out at The Prince and the Pauper. One of those products that miss-sells, does not do what it says on the tin.

Very good and enjoyed it a lot when I saw it, although after watching it 2 or 3 times got a bit bored. Obviously only suitable when seasonal, but otherwise a great Christmas movie for kids.
