It's summer vacation and the gang from East High is headed out to the local country club, either as members or as employees. Sweethearts Troy (Zac Efron) and Gabriella (Vanessa Hudgens) are hard at work, but still have plenty of time for near-smooches. Bratty Sharpay (Ashley Tisdale) has her eye on Troy, however, and is wooing him with a possible college scholarship.

This is one fun musical. All the high school stereotypes are here - the jocks, the brainiacs, the snobs - and they all sing and dance their way into our hearts. There's a big musical number about every five minutes and the productions are energetic and fun . Clearly aimed at the pre-teen audience, this movie is full of young, good-looking actors who make being seventeen look ... Read More:

Just received this DVD from Amazon - couldn't wait to see it as I have just seen the show in London.

I loved it all - it brought back a lot of memories.

It is a chick flick but my hubby enjoyed it too.

Definitely worth buying.

This movie is so iconic it is deeply ingrained in our culture. As a little girl, and as an adult too, we all want a magical pair of "Dorothy" shoes. The movie's message is very simple; there's no place like home. The magical world of Oz is in technicolor whereas the scenes in Kansas are in black and white. This helps to show how enticing Oz is. The characters are pretty damn good, they don't make em like that anymore. All of the characters go through a personal journey in the film; to get home, to become brave, to get a heart. The plot is as delightful as the characters and the setting, with a dash of humour added in; a must see for young and old, even my quite sensitive 6yr old daughter can handle the scarier bits. The replay value is immeasurable, I have seen ... Read More:

Every so often; and it isn't nowadays that frequent, 'cause the industry is in decline, and the mould on the window frames so bad you know they are never going to fix it, in a room far below ground and away from the public, sits a cabal of evil record executives. They have the kinds of faces you normally associate with sharks with borderline personality disorders who have never spared even one orphan middle aged sea captain, and there they sit, the dust gathering on their Saville Row lapels.

One of them moves slowly; and speaks in a gravely, cracked voice.

"Let's have another Grease revival"

The other execs cackle, their emaciated bodies heaving with satisfaction and the anticipation of yet more easy prey.

And so it is. ... Read More:

Simply put, Oliver! is one of the greatest musicals of all time. It is filled with memorable songs - "Food Glorious Food", "Oliver!", "Consider Yourself" and "Oom-Pah-Pah" to name just a few - and equally memorable characters.

The film is a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel and much like the story of Oliver Twist itself, it is a perfect family film. There are some frightening moments - the villain Bill Sykes played by Oliver Reed is scary enough on his own - but overall, the film will appeal to children of all ages as well as adults.

The story - which almost everyone is surely familiar with by now - revolves around a little orphan boy named Oliver and his life growing up in London. At first he lives in the workhouse with the rest of his fellow ... Read More:

Whilst this film appears to have been redone in the USA with a special 25th Anniversary Edition, this release is the same as the previous Warner effort. Extremely poor PQ, only 2.0 sound and zero extras.

Best avoided, and if you want a better effort than this, look for the US Anchor Bay release. It can't be any worse than this one!!

A shame, as if you like the music, you'll enjoy the film.
