This a very good, DVD about genesis, and Hackett & gabriel, The Sound and Picture is very good, and I love this DVD, it is much better than the "Genesis a History" that was on VHS tape from 1991. I is good to see Peter Gabriel talking about the old times and, comment on what was his best Genesis Song and Album, And the must surprice is the Phil Collins Comment what was his best Genesis Album, Buy this DVD and you will find it out. Must for all Genesis Die Hard Fans

Having first 'discovered' Genesis in the mid-eighties I hadn't listened to them much since...until I bought this DVD. This DVD inspired me to re-build my CD collection after (gasp!) selling it years ago. I found the interviews very insightful (complete with an almost unrecognizable hairless & pudgy Gabriel!) but the old concert video footage, while intrigueing, was a tease for this eager fan who is wondering when the rest of it will be restored and released in its complete state. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's a waste of money - anything released by Genesis could never be that - but your money may be better spent, if you had to choose, on the new double-DVD Way We Walk - Live in London - TOP MARKS!!

I did not think I was a Genesis fan and only really consented to watch to placate my brother. Within minutes though, my full attention was on the screen as the story unfolded and I shuddered to remember how old I was at each stage and how much was very real to me. This dvd really hits the spot in terms of bio pics and as well as a consecutive thread, gives a lot of interviews with band members, past and present which add to the insights received. Right through the tape I listened, learned and sang along with some of the clips, I know more than I wished to admit.

Finally there were the extras at the end and this was also a pleasing section to be interactive with.

This is a pure waste of my time and money.Not a single track was rendered completely.People buy this DVD to get the music too and not just short fragments with overlong interviews between.

First impressions on this DVD were very high, but after a few mintues of watching, we are treated to the same old story. Despite the interviews with the band being new, we were presented with the same footage of the band. The early Gabriel years were skipped over very quickly, and footage from the Three Sides Live, Mama Tour and the We Cant Dance Tour were shown. Any serious Genesis fan will have these anyway. The DVD was basically a rehash of the Genesis Story video from 1990/91. Despite all the negative aspects, there were some positives. There's an exquisite version of 'Horizon's' performed by Steve and also some accoustic versions of Afterglow, Follow You Follow Me which brighten things up a bit.
