This four disc box set is one of Elton John's most expansive. The first DVD is the actual concert at Caesar's Palace with fourteen songs played to perfection in front of a 4,100 seat crowd. Its Elton's famous band members combined with a theatrical show combining visual delights like neon sculptures, pop art inflatable's, pole-dancing Pamela Anderson, giant love hearts, balloons and more. Filmmaker David LaChapelle has included original videos for the backdrop for each individual song. There is constant music and constant motion awash in color. Yes where is the concert? If you are thinking about buying THIS QUEEN TRIBUTE show there is something you should know. 75% of the show has been cut from the the concet which is a BIG SHAME, becuse it was a good show when it was on tv all them years ago. a bad buy and you will be very dissaponted if you buy this dvd.

Hey fantastic show I have the DVD and I was so Happy Mr John took the time and realised that all the old stuff its what us punters want to hear. His Live shows are legendary and to have all this materail is fantastic. So I purchaed the Blue Ray Disc expecting to be blowen away with sound. What the hell is PCM 5.1?!?! My apmlifier thinks its PCM 2.0 no matter what I try. There are 2 options PCM 2.0 and PCM 5.1. "Its still sterio to me but I'm indifferent". Stick with the DVD version, it IS in 5.1 with the DTS option. It's filmed in HD so the DVD is going to shine when played on a Blue Ray player. Sooooooooooo disapointed!

Hello all Amazon Readers, I produced the 'Live Rare & Unseen + New York Stories' segments of Elton 60; 25 archival videotaped performances from Elton John, which I located, compiled, researched, and remastered (all of the Bonus material) although no credit in the booklet nor DVD jacket. I am a little biased. I think the DVD has some of the BEST quality audio I have ever heard on an archival Music DVD. We remastered three songs from Elton's 1972 'Royal Festival Hall - Honky Chateau Live' show which featured the global debut of 'Rocket Man', 'Honky Cat', and 'Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters' all now remarried to a hitherto lost 16 track one inch master, which was mixed-down on the Rolling Stones Mobile Studio by a ... This is a wonderful showcase of Elton live that almost makes you feel like you are there. I always play this now prior to seeing him live now to really put me in the right mood. Thats when I manage to get past repeating "Little Jeannie" "Philadelphia Freedom" and "Tiny Dancer"!!

Classic album DVD's are a real delight and this one is no exception. Not only does Elton give ample time to explain the escapades of recording in England, Jamaica and France, but also we hear a lot from Bernie Taupin on his songwriting. Producer Gus Dudgeon does many analyses of songs by showing how each track was laid out separately giving an entirely new meaning to the creation of a song through his mixer. Davey Johnstone does great famous riffs from the album and it is interspersed with the actual song with neat segues. The concert footage is a bit fuzzy, but the showmanship and the songs are displayed with great affection. Some fans might complain that only about a half-dozen songs are analyzed with a back-up story, but it is well worth hearing these tales. The ... Read More:
