Sumptuously filmed in beautiful colours, and with a Dolby sound track that will have your upstairs neighbours hammering in rage on your ceiling with their walking sticks, this film presents a largely fictional account of Mozart's last years, and quite libellously portrays Antonio Salieri as Mozart's murderer. It's all about envy, God and getting your just deserts, according to one Amazon reviewer, and I suppose that according to this school of thought, the fact that it's a seriously inaccurate reconstruction of the past is besides the point. Mozart emerges as a highly precocious and slightly nauseating American kid with an irritating high-pitched laugh, brilliant at wowing the Viennese public, upper and working class alike, with colourful theatricals. ... I bought this 'Box Set' for a friend and what did I find? Over six DVDs
many of the same songs are repeated at least three or four more times, so the blurb about 119 classic performances is total rubbish and simply a blatant 'con'.There are no track listings when you order it and the same DVds are available seperately....once again with no details.I think it's disgraceful that a company can do this.I know the cost is inexpensive but that's not the point.I would never buy anything from this company again and I hope no-one else falls for buying this misinformed product.

WoW!!!! The Voice still has it! This concert is Fabulous! The range of songs performed are varied, ranging from his standard classics to the Reload era with a sprinkling of others thrown in for extra good measure. Tom certainly performs, and shows us why he's still one of the all time greatest, handling a range of songs from all era's masterfully. And if you think this is great, just go and see him for yourself Live in person....You'll be knocked off your feet!!
There'll never be another performer like Sir Tom x

'This Is Tom Jones' was an ATV/ABC variety show which run for a couple of years between 1969-71. It probably goes without saying the star of the show was none other than the charismatic powerhouse voiced Tom Jones himself.

To use words like charismatic and powerhouse voiced in addition to elecrifying performer and amazingly versitile singer is no idle boast when describing Tom Jones at this period of his career as he literally tore into the songs (especially the uptempo ones) with an incredible sense of abandonment in addition to displaying a rare sensitivity when the need arose with many of the ballads. His fantastic stage presence with his incredibly exciting moves (which drove some women crazy) is truly a sight to behold. In performances that switch between ... Read More:

The sound quality of this dvd was excellent - the same high quality of the Come Away With Me cd from which most of the songs are taken. How many singers/bands can put on a live performance as good as the album! What I liked about the visual aspect of the dvd was that this was a warts and all performance:Norah was clearly nervous at the start and relaxed as the show moved on.
The audience participated to the making of a great atmosphere and
it was good to see the band members playing their instruments so intensely and with such feeling.

The film is a lot of fun, and it should look great.
But it doesn't.
Second Sight's dvd transfer is poor. Do yourself a favour and hang on until some company does this film justice with a special edition and an anamorphic transfer with a much much higher bit rate.
If this transfer were priced at 0.99, I'd call that overpriced.
