Like a cat prowling the stage Elvis was back and on top and once the nerves had gone there was no stopping him. From Guitar Man to If i can Dream and not a bad song or performance inbetween. Elvis was indeed back sadly only for a few more years. Mr Rochette i suggest you remember it was recorded in 1968 and originally in mono so do your homework before slating something that is historical rather than cutting edge soundwise.

Well, hit me in the head, and steal my money, step on my blue suede shoes and eat all my honey! This is one of the biggest disrespectful events in music history since they told Elvis he can't sing! This is one more case where we are being cheated by big company and forced to give our money for same old thing that we already owned. This so called special edition features original moovie but in MONO sound. This so called bonus material is in bad quality and be shure they have a lot more outtakes from this documentary, but they just don't want to release them, and to remaster them in stereo is pure science fiction. I had dreamt a thousand times of an event such as this but the spectacular concert DVD is way beyond any of my Elvis reunion fantasies. It is fabulous. The voice and footage of Elvis magically backed live by the original members of his 1970s band using latest technology. Run this DVD in a good player with quality sound equipment and you will be mesmerised. Play it loud and you will believe you are standing on the same stage. The band members still look and sound good 30 years on, and very obviously still got it all together. Also on stage are the Imperials, The Sweet Inspirations, the Stamps Quartet, and the Jordanaires. I grew up in the era of arena rock--if you can pack in ten thousand fans, why not 20, or even 30 thousand? Well I'm sorry, but the simple fact that this documentary is called ' Elvis by the Presley's ' is just not enough to call it good. Shure, it features some candid home videos and some nice recollections, but it's far away from as some said ultimate Elvis documentary. Yes it's designed well, nice sound & picture, but it's not impressive. This is just another factory product, it's not an artistic work. To me it doesn't matter who tells the story, but how he tells it. If you want just one, or really good movie, then go for 'This is Elvis' which is ultimate documentary of his life and music. The picture will speak for itself.

A biography of Elvis in two formats. One disc shows the shorter version with some funy x-rated Elvis comments (the backstage and in-car scenes) while the second disc shows a longer version with the x-rated comments overdubbed to hide what Elvis actually says. The film itself is quite accurate and to a new viewer quite interesting. In my opinion the end is fairly depressing as it depicts a tragic end to the superstar. I think the film could have done without that. Why make it seem as if Elvis' final years were terrible. They were not. Yes he may have had some problems towards the end but the mid seventies were his absolute best years as far as millions of people are concerned.
