Not heard the VHS Video in a while but this is so much better! Sound quality not the best on a DVD but a vast improvement on VHS. More songs, about 20 mins extra and Bono hasn't yet learned his stage craft. The Edge looks very un-rockstar as does Adam with his curly hair, Larry looks like he's still in (primary) school and Bono has the most ridiculuous hairdo (even by his standards). I could have done without Surrender & Seconds but the rest of the songs are storming, from Out of Control through to 40. This is a very loud DVD, so turn it up and destroy the neighbourhood! U2 when they were little!

Rattle and Hum gives an indept look at U2's rise to fame. And looking through the lens of R&H it's not hard too see why U2 have made a big imperrion in the world. I have Never seen a better performence of Sunday Bloody Sunday any where except only on R&H. An emotionaly charged performance whitch is as real as the wishful filling Gem!! Blu ray bring's it across, as clear and beautiful. sound is great too rate this 5/5 top Buy!!!!

This is excellent as far as it goes. Unfortunately so many of the songs seem to be cut short, so it ends up as a frustrating experience. Contrary to other reviewers, I think the black and white footage detracts from the stage presentations and is a pointless, 'arty' effect. The interviews are interesting first time, but on certain tracks if you jump past the chat, you also miss the music! The performances are great, and they have tempted me to look at other live concerts. Finally, at Amazon's price, with all my reservations, this is still a bargain and all U2 fans will love it. I just wish the songs were complete.

I had the pleasure of witnesing Popmart at Leeds in 1997 and the very next day i was phoning Island records to see if it would be released on video as it was a amazing concert.It took a few years to come out,and when it did i added it to my collection.I have been longing for Popmart to be re-mastered on to DVD for ages and now it has,and it is better than ever.This DVD really does the sound justice,at the live concert on the night it was fantastic,and now on this DVD it lives up to that night!If you have a surround system get it on to the DTS setting or 5.1 and crank it up!!The bonus disc is also a credit,with Lemon for sale and a tour of the tour well worth watching. I have had this DVD (the 'Deluxe' version, of which more later) since it's first week of release. I have to say it's musical content and the filming of it has grown on me as time goes by. At first I was not too impressed I have to say. But somehow it seems to win over with a hidden depth of content and character that just isn't immediate like some of the other U2 concert DVDs. Maybe it's because it seems a little slower paced, or maybe it's just because the band are a little slower paced than before. They are (like us all) getting older. But I don't think that's the only reason. It is an American 'in the round' show, and that changes the style and atmosphere of the concert compared to the European shows where the crowd are usually facing the front of stage ... Read More:

A Rockumentary about one the best albums of all time made by one of the best bands of all time, featuring input and comment by the band members and producers themselves cannot fail to be entertaining. The Classic Album shows have one notable difference from the average programme of this genre. The Classic album series is not just a collection of cheap thrown away programmes dominated by cheesy commentary over a string of fuzzy repeated images with bad quality sound bites and quotes. The series has excellent production values featuring original footage, which centres around getting the old multi track tapes out, and separating out the parts (and in some cases playing along to them or performing the demo version) to demonstrate how the finished product ... Is this really necessary, I won't talk about how bad this DVD is. All I can say is that REAL U2 fans like me would'nt half mind seeing POPmart released on DVD rather than the exctinct VHS.

In all fairness there will never be a happy medium, unless U2 bring out a complete definitive collection. The idea of U2-18 was to celebrate the 18 top tunes played world wide on the airwaves. As in the above review there should be other tracks, but this will do me fine. Great to have some of the older videos that were only available on video tape prior to this release. You can't go wrong with this dvd. I just wish that they would hurry up and release Under A Blood Red Sky on dvd !!!
