This a great show, which is why it gets 3 stars. It loses two because this set is a pale imitation of the R1 version. And that picture looks like the R1 version...but believe me the actual thing doesn't look anything like as good. It's just a big shoe box with all the old box sets stuffed inside. As someone else mentioned, the R1 version is a thing of beauty. Much smaller and compact, with raised "gold" embossing. Magnetically sealed, felt-lined, secret compartment, colour hard-back booklet. This show deserves a great complete season set, the R1 set is most definitely that, the R2 one is NOT! Having been addicted to the brilliant Alias on DVD since picking up S1 a few months ago, I was both saddened and excited to begin my journey into the final season. Season 5 is plagued by some major production problems, all of which are obvious from the moment you start watching: (1) Jennifer Garner is pregnant, and thus doesn't get so many fight scenes. The story was very obviously rewritten around her pregnancy, but to their credit the writers didn't try to hide her baby-tummy, instead they made Sydney Bristow pregnant as part of the story. But they also were forced to shoe-horn in two new agents to take up the slack. (2) Some of the actors weren't around to partake in the final series very much, and were very awkwardly written out ... Quite the best way to spend a wet Saturday afternoon ... wasn't sure whether it would live up to the fond memories I had of it, but it didn't disappoint. Still just as much fun now as it was then. Hope they bring out series 2 soon!

I agree with others that this series failed to live up to the previous 2 seasons, but it is still worth a look. While I found the Sark/Lauren relationship a little hard to believe, the ongoing Sloane saga leaves you wondering just what exactly the man is up to. My biggest disappointment I confess is patriotic,while I'm unaware of how authentic the details are in relation to other countries, the Episode pertaining to Belfast was rather poorly researched, showing footage of Dublin rather than Belfast, and a pub scene that was more akin to the 1940s that the 1990s! I'll not even mention the accents! I bought the box set in the end due to poor coverage on British TV and it was definitely worth every penny. Wow! I've been trying to find a record of this series for ages as NO ONE remembers it or seems to have heard of it! Very funny, though it may seem a bit dated in context with todays fast editing and crazy grpahics, but this was great fun and voiced by the genius that is richard briers! Something i loved as a child and enjoy now as an adult!

I have been a fan of this series since it first started in 1971. I was sorry to see it taken off the air. I've watched the re-runs ever since. I agree with the other comments--they need to release ALL of the shows on video, although these three are among the best!! Please pass our comments on to the folks at Universal. Maybe they will hear our pleas for MORE!! Even if you've never seen the series, if you're a western fan, you will LOVE THESE!! They are reminiscent of "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid" and "Maverick". In fact it was produced by the same guys who produced Maverick. You can't go wrong with these!!

Yes,I'm biased, but I am a great western fan, and this collection of vintage television history is right up my street; they certainly don't make them like this any more. No special effects, unless you want to count some ropey back projection, and quite obvious studio settings, and very little violent action to speak of; i.e. no car chases, spectacular explosions. What you have here folks are some solid stories about the human kind, revenge, passion, heartbreak, told with feeling, and humour, and also here, in a television series, something very rare, stories about characters you care for, and want to watch more ofton.
