This third series is the best series of Minder. First shown in 1982 this series has all of the hallmarks that made Minder great. Superb performances from the actors, great story lines and above all it is very funny. Do yourself a favour and grab a dose of TV nostalgia at its finest, just don't let 'er indoors' know!

As a Minder fan since its first airing on TV twenty eight years or so ago I was really looking forwarded to ploughing through it all again. After this series I was left a little disappointed. It is very much a warm up, introducing and getting to know the characters and giving their relationships a chance to develop. Many episodes, whilst still watchable, left me a little empty and they did feel very dated. However, things do improve as you work your way through and certainly subsequent series, especially 3-5, are excellent. Series 1 and 2 are more serious than latter ones though they do show glimmers of the more comedic side to come.
In summary, this is a must watch and a rite of passage to the later episodes. Do not let the three star ... Read More:

First aired in September 1985 the sixth series is the penultimate 'Terry McCann' release. With only six episodes (compared with eight in series five and up to thirteen in the first four) value for money compared to earlier releases is not so good. The individual episodes are consistently enjoyable with the droll DS Chisholm arguably stealing the show in a number of them. Dennis Waterman's Terry is maybe getting a little long in tooth as a hard man whilst George Cole's Arthur is as good as ever. At the time of filming this was possibly going to be the final series finishing with the brilliant Xmas special 'Minder on the Orient Express' (available on the 'Specials' collection).
In brief an excellent, though to be harsh past it'd peak, series ... Read More:

Well as there are no other reviews here I'm probably talking to myself -still what's new? I found this series on Amazon under Used and New for a tenner, and as far as picture and sound quality go have no complaints.

As far as content goes, however, I would have to say this was not the highlight of the Minder years. The first three episodes on Disc one were well up to scratch, and once or twice nearly had me wetting my Jeckylls, as they say in Arthur's neck of the woods. Good stories, great humour and cheerful Charlie Chisholm to boot!

Most of the other episodes range from "alright" to "what happened there?". Some end rather strangely without a very satisfying ending, and by the last one, which sees Arthur standing for ... Read More:

DVD : Minder - the Specials [3 Disc Digipack]
Another nicely packaged box set containing all five Xmas specials from this classic series spread over three disks. The first 'special' form 1983 is not an episode in the sense its Arthur, Terry and Dave in the Winchester Club looking back, with the aid of flash backs, at the scrapes they've got into during the early series of the show. The second and third specials from '84 and '88 are 'proper' stories (they run a little longer than those in the normal series) and include the final appearance of Patrick Malhide's excellent Albert 'Charlie' Chisholm. With Gary Webster's Minder appearing in the 1991 xmas episode this completes the first two disks. The gem of this collection though is the full movie length 'Minder on the Orient Express'. I remember ... Read More:

This was a brilliant edition of Minder and I would recommend it to anyone. However, I find it hard to believe that the DVD contains enough additional material to justify the asking price of 100 pounds!!

Buy the video and enjoy it.
