Now every now and again we get people saying what a great TV series they have seen and this was one of the ones I was asked to watch. Now sceptical as I was to think that a drama about a Manchester Family and its neighbours on the Chatsworth Estate and their exploits could be enjoyable but how wrong I was. The Gallagher Family and its neighbours are a real joy. Each episode picks on one member of the family (with the others interwoven) and it goes from better to better. I will ask that you at least give it three episodes to get to know the family and when you do you will be hooked. I've just finished watching Season 5 and have to say this was one of the best seasons for me, since Season 1 and 2 (which are still my favorites). Characters come and go, and some missed more than others, but the series goes on in strength, and there's never a dull moment on the estate. Great comedy TV for the open-minded adult.

I only recently thought I'd give this series a go, mainly because of James McAvoy, who sadly departs the series after season 2. I am now moving on to season 3 and see myself still being glued by the time I get to season 5. I still miss the character of James, but the rest of the family are so hilarious and 'real' that it's difficult to leave this Manchester Housing Estate until I have to. You may feel the same.

I do not get why people seem to hate Shameless 4 as its one of my fab series. Yes I loved Kev and Veronica but things had to move on and the Maguires are so much fun! I also like that they brought Monica back and the Yvonne gets more time on screen.....

the gallagher family and friends return for a third series of the darkened comedy that blends tragedy and tension with laughs,some of which are sick,thats the shameless way and thats what we like about the show. Over the eight episodes here the show progresses well with characterisation and development,without ever getting too ahead of itself,subtle parts are released,but as for the overall content,well thats a different matter,the show is packed with madness from top to bottom,violence,crime,grave robbing,i could go on readers. Underneath the belly of the beast is a sense of love and honour and that keeps the show real to the viewer in a way,the gallagher family and their surroundings are crazy but they are still a family who are close. shameless series 2 is a bit too much of whats good for you if you know what i mean,11 episodes is an advancement of any other series and at times the stories struggle to stick together and stretches itself very thin at times and in places it feels like haveing teeth pulled out just getting to the desired moment in the show,a little too much in places is my only complaint but for all of that,this is still a magical show and this series is still grabbing at the 3.5 out of 5 review and it gets it. Shameless is a show of over the top,exaggerated scenes about family and friends who have their downfalls but have humanity about them as well,laughs and emotions fall from this and anarchy is never far away. Shameless is probably my all-time favourite with each series managing to live up to the one before. The storylines are always strong and the acting excellent. (One or two of the actors have gone on to big things). Basically it's a good laugh even though some of the issues are serious. It's anarchic, hilarious and very near-the knuckle. (Too near for some!) There is a fantastic range of dysfunctional characters who mostly live off benefits or crime. Whatever else, they know how to party on the Chatsworth estate. Scatter!
