I, too, watched this on a rented dvd because of the hype and despite my brother telling me it was rubbish and my daughter suggesting it was an excellent 'b' movie.

For me, it didn't work. I know Americans are said to be different from us Brits in the main; this film suggets they just might be.

The camera (or camcorder in this case) was meant to be the USP of the film but it was, frankly, annoying. If he'd turned off the sound, it might have helped but, instead, we had to listen to a scriptwriter's dream - no meaningful script.

And who cared whether these imbeciles were killed off? Planting the alien in Manhattan was definitely a good idea. Pity we didn't see much of it. What we did see looked good which, ... Read More:

This is a triumph for Burton and Depp but too bad about Mrs Lovitt. The direction is tight as a drum, and, although I am a fan of the full stage production, I didn't miss the music that was cut because it was not necessary for a film. Depp executes a role-defining characterisation and sings excellently giving the music a modern feel through his pop/rock style. Sacha Baron-Cohen was also nothing short of fabulous as was the young boy.

For the most part the acting is right on the money. The biggest exception was, unfortunately, the character of Mrs Lovitt. Mrs Lovitt is a pivotal character and her part requires an actor/singer who can act the songs using her voice, which requires some experience and technique. It isn't really a character to do ... This is the best TV programme ever! This season has been completely fantastic. Everything about it is brilliant - the acting, directing, writing, storylines, special effects are all awesome.

What I love about this show is that it has a lot of variety. It has horror, comedy, action, family drama, mystery and suspense.

I can't fault the series at all and I think they coped superbly with the writers' strike. The series is 16 episodes instead of 22 but they have ended the series as it was supposed to end and I really don't think that the strike has had a negative impact at all.

I think that this is the best series of Supernatural so far but I love the first two series aswell.

It is a real shame that this show doesn't ... Read More:

and i got what i expected, the story vaguely picks up onto the end of the apocalpse, and the opening of this film, uses scenes from the first film to very good effect, and i have to say was one of the best bits of the whole film. After that though, sadly it goes down hill, the story kinda bolted onto the end of the existing films, by a 2 mins cgi globe and alice talking about how the t-virus has wiped almost everyone out. It joins alice on the road going to help some survivors, and lets just say thier game backfires.

The film also focuses on some of the people you will know from the second film, (although not jill valentine surprisngly) who have to hit the road and are searching for survivors as well as a safe haven, this is led by claire redfield, (yet ... Read More:

We all know of the hype that surrounded this film and that was even before we even knew the name of the film, once we found out the name we became more pre-occupied with the Monster but we never really got to see the monster up close and personal. Even when the movie was released we're never really given a clear shot of the monster itself leaving more to the imagination, which I think makes it all the more special. The story tells of Rob Hawkins (Michael Stahl-David) who's about to leave New York city to start a new life in Japan, during his goodbye party he has an argument with his girlfriend, Beth (Odette Yustman) and she leaves while he has to attend the party with other things on his mind. By about this time the cameraman for the movie is Hud. (T.J. Miller) As the night ... Read More:

what a shame it didn't work. However loyal you are to Romero, either as a gore fan or because the political or social topics encountered in all his zombie series intrigue you, they were sorely executed.
I was led to believe after watching the film that this was more of a rant at the new wave zombie movies and ethics even modern horror with the disposable actors, this is partly the case (zombies don't run) (the camcorder style films) but the rest is down to being simply a bad film.
rationality has gone completely out the window, watching your friends being attacked and rather film it that drop it, not looking at the bigger picture and just abandoning filming and focus on our basic survival, zombie piggy backs, hoping someone has a play-station, negligence. Romero is having another ... Read More:

Quite simply the worst film i have ever seen. Some of the action was ok (flying things against apache helicopters)but the story was terrible. Some odd reporter falling inlove with the "chosen one" within minutes of meeting her? What! The main baddie was pants as well - some dogey armor and special sword. Anyone who gave this more than 1 stars should be shot!

Let me start by saying that this film is quite possibly one of the best films I have seen in a long time, and if you haven't watched it yet then where have you been?

From the off set we are transported into a little girls mind during WW2 Spain. With a heavily pregnant mother and an evil stepfather the girl escapes into the pages of her treasured fairy tales.

With the promise of becoming a princess and escaping her tragic life, the girl embarks on her fairy tale adventures, some of which you may remember from your own childhood.

I don't want to give too much away, as ruining this film for even one individual would be unforgivable, and of course we have all read the synopsis.

All I can say is that this is a truly touching tale, with amazing acting and ... Read More:
