This beautifully shot, stylish Roman Polanski comedy horror, manages to get the balance just right between scares and laughs. Every horror cliche is explored and lampooned, but its all done with such great respect for the genre it is spoofing, that it could easily be classed as a horror film in its own right.
The main joke here is that two intrepid vampire killers, are in fact a couple of bumblimg fools, completely outwitted by the devious, clever vampires they are supposedly hunting. Its a very good joke, and Roman Polanski and Jack Magowran are both excellent as our hapless heroes.
An excellent film that is lovely to look at, and a classic of its kind

I just watched Blade Trinity again, and again it shows just how brilliant the first two films were. Wesley Snipes is perfect as Blade and both of the first films have some of the best fighting scenes in this type of film. Trinity, I'm afraid is a poor imitation of the first two. A shame but still five stars overall.

I found this series rather disappointing. Whilst the first 3 (especially the 3rd season) were all tremendous and series 4 was thoroughly enjoyable this one is much darker. As a personal preference I like a big dollop of humour in buffy and in this season there's a distinct lack of humour. Some of the episodes are great but I found Dawn so irritating in this that she marred a great deal of it and the misery of Joyce Summers' death, although portrayed very well (particularly interesting is listening to Joss Whedon's commentary), made for a rather dismal season. Glory is a great villain and Spike's character is really starting to develope but it lacks the sparkle, fun and much of the shock factor of previous seasons.

When Joss was away the writers got to play, and unfortunately rode off on personal hobbyhorses such as James Bond-ish covert units and a "non-dark" boyfriend for Buffy. Add to these a Frankenstein rip-off and you get a mish-mosh of a season with such a confused arc that the last episode seems to exist just to say "Don't worry, we'll have more interesting storylines next season". That said, bringing back Spike and Anya and introducing Tara more than makes up for the cast members lost and makes possible most of the main threads in the arcs of the final three seasons. Making her way through this soup, Sarah Michelle Gellar must have decided it was "sink or swim" and gave her best overall performance of any season. Even this topnotch effort couldn't strike any sparks ... Read More:

This series of Buffy is tremendous! After a rather miserable and dark series 5 I found this one much more filled with giggles whilst still being able to tug the heart strings and give the viewer surprises and something to think about. Willow's "addiction" to magic is portrayed very well and Buffy's struggle to return to the world after being in heaven is interesting. I do think perhaps the idea of Buffy's being unable to be with her friends properly anymore was not particularly well done but you get the overall picture. The only really bad episode was the one with Xander and Anya's wedding! Other episodes are stuffed with humour - some of which is amply provided by the geekiest bad guys ever to hit Sunnydale and the legendaryt musical episode. Others are thought ... Read More:

Firstly let me start with the Tod Browning/Bela Lugosi English language version (ELV). It's a landmark film being the first conventional version of Dracula, the first major film of the post-Chaney Hollywood horror era, the film that unleashed Bela Lugosi on an unsuspecting world, and the film that established just about every convention of vampire films for decades to come. Compared with Nosferatu, this was a massively influential film up to and including the Hammer era. All of which is a bit strange, because it's not a very good film. Once the action leaves Transylvania and transfers to London (and it's newly acquired suburb of Whitby), the stagey, pompous dialogue and the glacial pace make for quite a boring film. The torpor isn't even relieved by it's being especially atmospheric ... Read More:

this is where Sarah Michelle Gellar became a star,Joss Whedon was welded onto the map,and television would never be the same again.
Buffy Summers was made an international icon in the sci-fi/horror genre, and not only was the lead appealing for viewers it was a strong supporting cast that made it the entertaining show we all know and love, including the fabulous Anthony Stewart Head as Giles,Alyson Hannigan as Willow,Nicholas Brendon as Xander, and Charisma Carpenter as Cordelia.
this made television fun again and well basically it bacame one of the most successful television series ever made!!!!
and is by far my favourite series to come out of the States and my favourite show EVER!!!
Welcome to the Hellmouth/Harvest-5/5-it all started here, and my god the pace and script for ... Read More:

This is an excellent adaptation of Bram Stoker's novel, it doesn't remain as loyal to the book as other adaptations do but still, it's excellent! Peter Cushing is the best Van Helsing and Christopher Lee is the best Dracula, undoubtedly. On the DVD, the quality of the sound and footage is excellent, no scratches, this is overall and excellent release.

a better season when compared to season 2 and 3 but it isnt at all the standard of Buffy.
but as Buffy was in its final season this show needed to kick it up a gear...and with Faiths appearence on the show, she manages to kick it up a gear as it is a depressing season that needs more life breathed into it.
