When it aired in my country in the summer of 2002 and i loved it. it was one of the best mini series i have ever watched. i don't know if it was the subject, gay romance in 19 century England, but this is to this day still in my top 5 of most see mini series. the plot, the script, the character and the acting are amazing. you can tell it is BBC made due to it's quality. i highly recommend it and If you don't want to buy try and rent it from somewhere I promise it be worth it.

This film has been resonating with me days after watching it... not because it is the best film ever, but because it touched me deeply by the subtle way that it normalises the coming out experience and the subsequent gay relationships that can happen afterwards. It was just so, so refreshing to witness on screen the unfolding lives, with no apologies and no judgements... and no funny camp fall guy to get in the way of the true story. More Gay cinema like this... please! My only criticism really would be that it ended with a little too much over sentimentality... but hey that's Hollywood for you. Buy it, rent it, see it.

i love this show ever since i just bought the first season on a whim. this is a great season as there is plenty of new faces to replace some of the old ones that have left. follows onj from where we left the gang in canada after shane leaving carmen at the alter and helena was cut off by her mother.

No matter what anyone says, and no matter what happens, no other musical can beat the one and only "Rocky Horror Picture Show"! Seriously! I know I may be exaggerating, but tied with the Baz Luhrman classic Moulin Rouge!, this is THE greatest musical of all time! What I like most about "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" is the fact that it has its own inventive style. I mean, look at musicals like Mary Poppins and Sound of Music (both good films by the way). While they have people singing nice lovely songs aimed at families, RHPS tells about a "Sweet Transvestite" and his servants whom dance to "The Time Warp". How many musicals use THAT idea? There really isn't much I can say as The Film Gem Digger's review sums it up perfectly! I'll never understand why this was canceled!! Just snap up this DVD!! If you're a fan of all the shows The Film Gem Digger mentioned, as well as the woefully underrated Girlfriends, and the new show Lipstick Jungle, you'll love this!!

Basically, everyone else seems to have just said the plot of the film. I will say that this movie is one of the most beautiful, amazing films ever made and is best watched alone, with a clear mind. Heath Ledger is commonly said to have given a brilliant performance, which I agree with completely, on parr with his last complete role as the Joker. However, I do feel Jake Gyllenhaal is very underrated in this film, I love his performance, particularly at the start of the film, though his character's actions begin to get on my nerves towards the end, this doesn't take away from the magnificent ending, which could not be bettered. I have never watched it without crying.

I rented this dvd on the strength of the reviews given alone, and very glad I did. I thought it was an absolutely fantastic adaptation and having not read the book or known anything about the story found myself captivated from start to finish. So good I have now ordered my own copy!

I'd only ever heard of the show through the internet & purchased the series on what clips i'd seen from the show - i'm so glad I did, it has to be one of the most refreshing and pure-escapism tv shows put out in a while. The first series seems a little off the wall at first but the series evens out, the more episodes you watch. Trash tv for sure, but alot of fun to watch, and incredibly camp and OTT. Tracy Scoggins in particular, Makes Dante's well worth checking out as evil Grace! Hot men, hot women, pure madness and hammy acting...bring on season 4
