By now you will have read that this is one of the most fantastic animations of all time.

However, may I suggest that you do your utmost to purchase the original Japanese version and watch it with subtitles, rather than with the silly dubbed American voices.

It takes on a whole new character watching it in the original Japanese.

Not just the best studio ghibli film but the best film ever. The storyline is brilliant. The animation is breath taking and to top it off the characters are excellent.
I would recommend this film to anyone anime fan or not.

This anime classic explores the familiar ecological theme often found in such Ghibli works as Princess Mononoke.

This an engaging film which might not appeal to younger audiences due to the complex story, and the giant scary insects (which again are reminiscent of the giant forest spirits in Princess Mononoke).

In a world of warring civilisations clinging on to the few natural resources available due to the years of constant pollution, a plan to resurrect an ancient force and change the world results in a battle to protect the future of the planet. This is a pretty involved story and isn't one to be casually watched whilst doing the housework or checking your e-mails. The main characters are strong and as with most of Miyazaki's ... Read More:

This is another Hayao Miyazaki masterpiece. As with his other films, the strength is in the story and the storytelling. Even though this supposed to be a children film, it has a strong appeal to adults, with the intrigue of the power play between the characters and people are not what they first appear. There is the additional puzzle if you want to work out who's providing the voice for the villain, it's Mark Hamill. Always wondered what he did after playing Luke Skywalker! The only downside and why it might not appeal to some is that the animation is a bit dated, it doesn't have the bright pizzazz of some of the more modern Pixar, Disney or Dreamwork animation, but well worth taking the time to watch.

The action of Hayao Miyazaki's latest animated fantasy takes place in an undetermined place and age, though it looks like the late 19th century (allowing for a number of anachronistic details) in a Central European kingdom (the Austro Hungarian empire of the time seems the country where the action takes place, and the book happens in a place called Ingary, though the kingdom in the movie has a large port by the sea, which the Austro Hungarian empire didn't). The story starts with a young woman called Sophie working in a hat factory who is suddenly turned into a 90 year woman through a curse by some witch. She then tries to meet the wizard Howl, to see if he can help her. As it later turns out, Howl faces some curses of its own. The story soon becomes very convoluted, almost ... Read More:

Studio Ghibli has built quite a reputation over the years as being one of the foremost delivers of Anime. Even in small Denmark Ghibli's movies have succeeded in entertaining the audience and now anime/manga is not as alien as it once was. Globalization has taken its turns and thank god for that. Ghibli has delivered yet another sweet and enjoyable movie that is far from the and maybe even above the average Hollywood movie. Whisper of the heart tells the story of the female protagonist Shizuku who studies at junior high school and reads a lot of books, which she borrows from the school library. After a while she recognizes that the same person has borrowed the same books, she borrows before her, and she intends to find out who this person is. After a while she meets with the person and ... The episodes themselves I give 5/5. This is some of the best that Naruto has to offer. They are constantly entertaining and action-packed. Don't worry about that.

The DVDs are, however, a disappointment. They have both the english dub, which is fairly good, and the japanese. However, the subtitles are merely the words of the dub. This means that to those of you who speak japanese and can understand the audio, this is going to grate. It also means that there are times when there is japanese audio but no accompanying subtitle, or vice-versa. The first season box set had subtitles that were translated from the Japanese, why couldn't this one?

In addition, neither the opening nor closing songs have subtitles. Again, the first season didn't have this problem, they translated ... Read More:

now although i admit the film is confusing if you haven't played the game it's still a great film i watched it and i hadn't played the game and i pieced together most of it aprt from the characters my advice if you haven't played the game is to ignore the plot and focus on the action aside from that it's a complex intelligent beautiful action filled film i advise to watch
