The second volume in the series continues the high standard of animation and voice acting that made the first so good.

This volume is a lot more action based, which means the plot goes a little on the back burner. However the characters start to develop. This makes up for the slow movement of the plot, as the characters are great, with some of the more shadowy characters being extremely interesting.

My only complaint is that the end to one of the combat sequences seems a little shallow, but watch it and you may disagree.

On the whole an excellent title, well worth buying if you own the first volume!

As a great symphony is composed, so also must the world. All that which has been sown in the Mu's and the Xephon's path now comes together to decide the fate of the world. Will it be tuned to the Mu's ideals, or will humanity be able to hold on to their only home.

Amidst all the confusion, great deeds are performed at a terrible cost, and all the while the fate of the world hangs over the head of the Rahxephon and its pilot. As Ayto struggles to find himself amidst the turmoil, a voice calls out to him.

This is merely the begining of history. Worlds shall change as all is born anew in the seventh volume of Rahxephon.

At first glance the story of Rahxephon sounds suspiciously similar to that of Neon Genesis Evangelion. And it is true the two stories do have a lot in common! -but, nevertheless, they are two distinctly different stories, and the author of this review takes the side of the Rahxephon.
First let me make it clear that I have the greatest respect for Evangelion, it is an amazing anime that no one should have to live without. With that said one might wonder how I can claim that Rahxephon is better. But it is simple: everything Neon Genesis Evangelion brought, Rahxephon brings twice as well.
Evangelion was driven by a massive philosophical plot, giving it a dull appearance. The greatest strength of it being the uncertainty with witch it was ... Read More:

The first thing that strikes me about this DVD is that fact that they have skimped on an episode where by you get only 3 as opposed to 4 in the previous volume, that is a little annoying :S but as for the story, this series seem to have reached that point in every classic Anime series where the dark sinister plot twists start to kick in, though only softly at first, the actual battles between the Rah Xephon and the Dolems are getting fewer and further between and much more emphisis is being placed upon the characters and their relevant relationships, which in this case is a good thing as the charcters in this series are surprisigly deep and endearing, there are quite a few dark alteriour motives starting to bubble to the surface with particular ...
