This version something I have been interested in seeing for over a decade, the Japanese version of this film. The first disc is the film pretty much identical to how it has always been released in the UK. The second disc is the Japanese version, fully intact, no edits, no overlays with a new 5.1 mix (and the old stereo track). The Japanese version feels like different film. The use of music is much more sparse, the intonation of the voices present the characters differently. Putting the two versions on separate discs rather than fitting the Japanese audio to the English version is definitely the best way to present this. Now for the down side. Filmed in the early nineties this was one of the first computer game to movie adaptations that I ever watched and it still ranks as one of the worst that I have seen. What little plot that the film has revolves around M. Bison, a South-East Asian dictator capturing some hostages and the Allied Nations mission to attempt to retrieve them. Throw in some sub-plots about revenge and con-artists, some lacklustre special effects, some awful casting and badly choreographed fights and what you get is a movie that fails to deliver for both fans of the game and general action movie fans. I had many hopes for this movie, but the biggest down side is the lenght. It doesnt even break the 1hour barrier. Just as i was getting into it i needed more. Animation is good and generally its not bad. Im a huge street figther fan and this is a must for any collection. The movie highlights the early years of the characters when akuma was still a little sane but on the verge of being completly swallowed by the dark chi, and the murder of his master Goutetsu. Ryu, Ken, Sakura star in this plot. Capcom stop toying with us and finish this, BUT PLEASE MAKE THE FINISH THE MILESTONE FOR ALL MANGA PRODUCTIONS TO ATTAIN, AND BLOW US AWAY! i trust u will

Im gonna make this short, the highlight of this movie for me was ken's fantastic dragon punch. Animation on this movie was fantastic, but was wasted on a storyline that had no merit. I can understand what CAPCOM are trying to show, but enough is enough, WE WANT AKUMA AND GIVE US EVIL RYU. CAPCOM SHOW US A SFII MANGA THAT BLOWS EVERYTHING AWAY AND MAKES US WATCH IT WITH THE BIGGEST SMILE AND SENSE OF SATISFACTION but all also the saddening feeling that this fantastic adventure is at an end. YOU CAN KEEP MAKING THEM, I TRUST U WILL!

The series is set before the movies and goes into more detail about different characters in Street Fighter. Although the animation is not as great as the movies, it is still worth the buy because the story line is much more exicting and entertaining. definitely worth the buy!!!
