Here I will be reviewing the binding in which this specific edition is presented in - the series is reviewed in depth elsewhere. The image on this page doesn't accurately show the appearance of the product, so I'll try and relate it's appearance as best I can.

The DVD collection is presented in a small (about A5) book, made of faux leather, in a blood red shade. The cover is delicately embossed with patterns (as is the back cover) and on the spine and the front cover, there is a large image and the text "Wolf's Rain" and "Book of the Moon" are created with gold foil blocking. This gives it an authentic book appearance. I am slightly disappointed with the quality of this however; on my copy, there are parts where the gold seems to ... Read More:

DVD : Wolf's Rain - Chapter 1: In The Company Of Wolves [2004]
Wolf's Rain is the story about a 'pack' of four wolves, lead by the white wolf Kiba, who searches relentlessly for a place called Paradise. In the post-apocolyptic world, wolves are supposed to be extinct but they have merely been deceiving humans by wearing illusion that makes them appear like men.

If I was to describe Wolf's Rain in one word, it would be beautiful. The world it is set in is hardly attractive, but that's what makes it so astounding. The animation is great, and the setting is like a reminder to us that we're destroying the world we live in. The characters are a bit stereotypical: there's the leader, the badass, the comic relief and the guy who's always getting into trouble, but even so, you hardly ever get excrutiatingly ... Read More:

I really enjoyed watching this serie as I got it as birthday gift. It's lovely drawn which nice characteres and their wolf habits. Great laughs, deep thinking, rounding up a story about the human heart although there are truley wolves.
This story is about Kiba, Hige, Toboe and Tsume on their way to Paradise as wolves (they are able to the shape to humans as a disguise) as they are the only ones ever able to reach this place. Wolves were extinguished around 200 years ago and are a rare specie. The Lunar Flower is the only living creature able to smell wolves (so that she can awaken) and in this case it's the beautiful Cheza who helps her four friends to get to Paradise - accompanied by all sorts of dangers.
This serie is not for young children ... Read More:

Even though I've started collecting this series near the end of the adventure, I have been hooked, just by the episodes in this dvd. The charcters are all well thought out and played. The animation is very detailed, and the storyline is easy to follow, even if you have no idea what is going on.
