Great value for money but do be warned that 2 of the 4 DVDs are actually the the SAME DVD just with a different title! (I thought this must be some mistake until I read another review saying the same thing!) I found Billy Blanks very motivating and despite the duplicate workouts, there is still enough variety in this boxset to get you started and I would still recommend it. I found it fast paced enough to hold my attention but still informative with easy to follow instructions with a fantastic workout. I have tried many other workout DVDs and Billy Blanks' TaeBo is by far the best.

The advanced workout on Tae-Bo Energise DVD is copied from the Tae-Bo 5 Active DVD (i.e. exactly the same workout, same people, same clothes). Check it out and see what I mean. The Energise DVD was released a year after Tae-Bo 5 Active so complete RIP OFF.

I must admit I was dubious about buying this DVD even with the fantastic reviews I had read, however now I have the DVD, it's fantastic. I've found that billy is really motivating which is unusual for a DVD as normally they just iritate me. Also the extras who are also doing the routine all seem to be having great fun - a great workout too but they're enjoying it too which insires you to keep going. It's tough to start with but if you keep at this one your'll deffinitly reap the rewards. My advice... if in doubt about this one, buy it anyway as I think you'll enjoy the fantastic and fun workout

Not for the faint hearted or beginners. This is a really fabulous 2 disc dvd, that will really get you working. The first cardio disc is c35 mins which in a short time gives you an excellent workout, broken down into upper body, lower body, core and total body workouts (thus working your arms, abs, thighs and bottom). It raises your heart rate so expect to end up hot and sweaty. The 2nd disc is c50 mins, broken down into 2 upper body, 2 lower body, 2 core and 1 total body workouts - again lots of cardio, boxing and kick boxing moves. I used to have a really cheesy Cathy Smith video from the 80s which I memorised and could eventually do the workout without the tape - which was just as well because while the exercise routine was great, her motivational talk ("I know it's getting tough, but don't give up!") and simpering at the camera made me want to punch my TV. I'm sure she's a lovely woman, but I just hate all that "Woo, yeah!" nonsense. Billy Blanks is, for a fitness instructor, remarkably inoffensive. There's one bit where he talks about feeling like you can protect yourself which I found a bit irksome (it's a fitness DVD, not a self-defence course), but other than that he's really quite bearable. I have just recently bought this DVD having been a fan of Billy's DVDs for years. He is as usual very energetic and very encouraging, which keeps you going. Very similar to his other DVDs he takes you through the new combinations at a slow pace then pumps it up to workout tempo. One of the combinations still makes me fall over my feet but it is only my second time! I do find that I am anxious to get back to using this DVD but I think that if you are extremely fit, you may find this a little too easy. Only one thing gets on my nerves and that is the constant interference by Shellie, maybe touching Billy is supposed to be some signal of the next move but it is quite annoying. The problem is that Billy clearly doesn't rehearse his workouts, he just makes them up on the spot. Nowhere was this more evident that in this current DVD. The class are frequently thrown into chaos with people going this way and that, and Billy regularly loses count, does more on one side than the other, and generally confuses the hell out of everybody. I would also say the intervals are way too short to raise your heart rate sufficiently. It's a shame because his ideas are good, it's just the execution that's dreadful. The other thing that makes this so bad is that awful irritating woman who is in the background of every one he's ever done - during this one she just keeps screeching "SIR!!!!" at the top of her voice which makes you want to hit her. I really liked the workout. It gets you pumping and sweating, I consider my self fit/can run 10kms in 40 minutes, etc, giving a very good total body workout and increases your energy levels unlike a long run. I'd recommend this workout to all people that want to be seriously involved in a serious fast paced workout!

I have a question about Tae Boe Get Ripped. I own the this DVD and I think it's fantastic. But on Amazon I see 2 versions of Tae Boe Get Ripped,one with Billy on the cover from 2002 and one with Shelly on the cover from 2003. Is there some diffrent between this 2 DVDs or they are the same?

This is a good set for anyone that is already reasonably in shape. If you are a first timer, this is too hard and you may lose confidence. I am a mountain guide and use this set for training during the off season and when the weather is rough. The bands add an extra quality that you don't get in many other products. Beware, the suggested programme includes "Basic", "Ab", "Ultimate" and "Cardio" sessions but my set only included 3 discs, the missing one being "Cardio". I have played all the others numerous times and can't see this session hidden away anywhere, so can only assume that you have to buy it seperately which is a bit of a cheek given the high initial price of the set. My solution is to go hill running on the days it suggests "Cardio" but that may not be an option for you, so bear this ... Read More:
