Shame you can't give more than 5 stars because this deserves it. This is one of my favourite series of all time. It follows Horatio Hornblower and his rise through the navy. Ioan Gruffudd is fantastic in the role, starting out as a green 17 year old, he comes aboard ship. At first his is bullied by other crew members, such as Charlie Simpson (Dorian Healy) but his quick wits and couragous nature soon make him a favourite with his shipmates. Never compromising his honour he deals with every situation to the best of his ability. Guest stars actors such as Dorian Healy and Andrew Tierman. What can be said that hasnt? This is a beautiful movie but I only hope everyone saw it in theatres, the bigger the screen the better for this movie. The commentary is worth a listen but be warned they liked the movie on the big Imax screen too, and mention this a lot through out the movie how you can see more if its an Imax print. This made me feel a little cheated and I dont think they should have gone on about it so explicitly but that aside this is going to be a beautiful rich movie with style however big your screen is. As for emotional, my friends ,male and female both cried at the end of it.

I first saw this film in the cinema, and am so glad it is now out on DVD. As a big fan of war films, Female Agents is easily the best of this year, with cracking performances from all the main leads, especially Sophie Marceau. Set in 1944 during World War II, the film tells the story of four women resistance fighter given the mission to rescue a British geologist. Based on a true story, the action rarely lets up with a fantastic script complemented by gorgeous cinematography. Watch out for the subway scene - it's a classic!

Having read the original book - elements from which were almost certainly 'borrowed' for 'King Arthur' - I was disappointed to have missed what seemed to be a ridicously short run at the cinema. Having now seen the film on DVD, I can see why that run was so short. It's truly awful. Ben Kingsley is hams it up so badly you'd think he was in panto and Colin Firth is so wooden if the film had been any longer he'd have needed a coat of Ronseal. If you want to spend your money then buy the book instead. This was an opportunity missed to make a really entertaining film and is a HUGE disappointment.

This film doesn't pretend to be a history lesson.What it does do is inform people about the Scottish freedom fighter William Wallace and it does it in an excellent way.Many people have been critical about the historical inaccuracies in this movie but they miss the point.More than anything,'Braveheart' has opened the door for so many people to perhaps learn more about a man they may never have heard of before this film came along. Mel Gibson deserves enormous credit for both his portrayal and direction.Indeed,the acting is pretty much top notch here and special praise must go to Patrick McGoohan as King Edward 1st.He positively drips evil and dominates every scene he is in. I never really got the nack of 3 hour films, 'Lord of the rings' etc. but Troy is a powerful action packed film with plenty of hard fighting. Troy is an 'Epic' you may find the term when you look at Kingdom of heaven, Gladiator or Master and Commander. I can clearly see Troy up with films like that. As for the film iself, it has an amazing cast and i was surprised to see Sean Bean as well since i didnt read the small print lol bu yeah and it featured Peter O'toole who ive seen in many other films. As for the special effects, what can i say it looked real from the start,the fighting was was gorey from what you might of seen in Gladiator like Stab, Chopped heads of etc. A long time ago i saw the orignal cut of Troy and i was not impressed but with the ...
