I was looking forward to this movie, this was one of the iconic books from my childhood. I have to say that I very much enjoyed it, however maybe not as much as the first film. The filming was excellent, with beautiful backdrops and surroundings, very good CGI and good acting. It's been so long since I read the books however, that I can't remember if this was faithful to the original though... will have to re-read them I think! The things that let it down for me were the comedy elements, the mouse-knights and alike fitted very much with a Disney film, however I thought that they were not necessary, and detracted from the story. i understand what pixar and disney were trying to do - promote global issues in a way kids can understand however the ideas are very adult and i wouldnt recommend for kids. BUT........... this is a master piece for adults. it has humour, the love story, the real life threats and the general likability factor!! this is a special movie and the first of its kind!! a must see for adult disney fans as we can understand the impacts and the messages that are to advanced for a childrens film. in addition youll end up loving wall-e and wanting to take him home :)

A relative bought this for my daughters 5th birthday & what a waste of good money.My daughter who is a huge fan of Peter Pan wasn`t impressed with this. The animation is good but there is no feasible story line. Disney should have left Tinkerbell in her original form as in Peter Pan. It`s just another rip off sequel.

Enjoyable, mindless, and very funny. Downey Jr. was surprisingly brilliant. Little plot or real substance but who cares, just fun hokum and the best film I've seen for a while. Recommended.

I had no idea what to expect from this movie, but the trailers looked interesting. This movie is an interesting angle, making a superhero with all too human floors. What you should not expect is a Marvel or DC comics movie, probably much more of an all American feelgood movie. Will Smith gives a good performance as our misguided superhero with a good supporting cast and good effects, makes for a nice easy watching movie.

I, like many people, am becoming a huge fan of Del Toro's work both in English and Spanish and having really enjoyed the first Hellboy was excited about seeing this sequel. I saw it twice in the cinema, once in London in a special preview screening and again back at home on it's last night - and was completely bowled over both times. For someone like me who watched Ray Harryhausen creatures slugging it out on TV as a kid with his jaw open - this movie is a dream come true, Del Toro has just unlatched the top of his head and spilled his imagination onto celluloid and the result is amazing. As a fan of superhero movies, I have been a happy man recently. The quality of these movies has increased massively over the past few years. The Dark Knight, Spiderman and Hulk movies are great improvements on previous efforts.... can Iron Man keep up... OH YES! Watched this last night on my brand new 1080p TV and was blown away with the picture quality... amazing. Then you have the film itself. Sets up the character brilliantly, I really like Stark the playboy, and you are really convinced with his epiphany. With good performances from all the actors, great special effects and CGI that is not obvious, this made for a very entertaining 2 hours. Even sets you up for an exciting sequel..... a must buy for super hero movie fans, especially on Blu Ray

I love the Discworld books and have read all of them with great enjoyment, but the two films, Hogfather and now The Colour Of Magic leave me just a little disappointed. There are far better Discworld stories than these two, which could have been turned into films, anything featuring the Night Watch and Sam Vines, as an example, but perhaps that's just because in those books lie some of my favourite characters, and Rincewind isn't. David Jason, although a great actor, tries just a little too hard in this film, and his overexaggerated speech and mannerisms tended to grate on me at times. It's hard to put into words just exactly what's wrong, it just felt a little flat, and as with Hogfather, to me it's another wasted opportunity to make a really good Discword film. The two ... Be warned this film is hardly anything like the Spiderwick Chronicles books.My son and I have read all the Spiderwick Chronicles and we found this screen adaptation very disappointing. Where's the dwarves, elves, dragons , the palace of trash and the incident at the school where Jared first meets Mulgarath ? It seems to me that they tried to make the film as cheap as possible using mostly cgi, hence no dwarves and elves and tried to save money by using ,mainly one set (the house and the estate it's on). We also found the relationships of the characters had been changed. Why? There was nothing wrong with the supportive relationship between Jared, Simon and Mallory that they have in the books which you only see later on in the film. I can't really understand all the negative reviews here: you can almost hear the comic book guy from the Simpsons declaring it "worst. episode. ever". The first Futurama movie didn't quite work for me. Entertaining, but it seemed like the writers were struggling to fill the feature length, and chose to fill it with so-so material which would have been cut on an ordinary show (eg. the early "Fox executives themselves fired" joke dragged on far too long). The second was much better, particularly the first half (the Steamboat Willie spoof, the Deathball scenes, Disco boogie). The third one may be slightly less entertaining than the second, but still has more laughs than you'll get from just about any show still on TV! So, ignore the naysayers. ... Read More:
