From the point of view of an adult this film has lots of flaws - perhaps too long and the humour wasn't so great and the love story a bit unconvincing.But for children it is something of a wonder with tremendous special effects,battleaxe witches,sword fights,chases on horseback,a pirate ship that flies through the air,palaces and cities built on towering mountain peaks ( much of the scenery is scottish), and mystery and mayhem all over the place. The last twenty minutes or so is great whatever your age:one of the best fight sequences I've ever seen on film.

This 10 disk set contains the entire first season of the original series of Star Trek. Each episode has been digitally remastered and the some of the effects have been redone using todays technology. This has devided Star Trek fans - some prefer the series as it originally was shown - others prefer it with these new effects. I must admit I think they have done a superb job on creating these new special effects. They have concentrated mainly on the ships and in my opinion this does not spoil your enjoyment. The music has also been rescored and again an excellent job has been done. Of course no box set is 100% perfect. The packaging is not great and is prone to damage - particually the plactic case. That has to be one of my favourite lines from a sitcom that has so much quality in it! You can pick any episode and find many great lines in it. The writing and the acting are both superb, this is a must have for your DVD collection.

An excellent plot line, side-splitting one-liners and brilliant acting. Enjoyable for all ages, heart warming and emotional, I don't think I will ever tire of this film.

In one of Pixar's most underappreciated film, a race car gets lost on the way to the biggest race of his life, and winds up in a town where he learns the meaning of life. With the opening montage of a race car getting himself geared up for a race, audiences are invited into a fast and flowing animation which doesn't match the peak of Toy Story or Wall-E, but is entertaining throughout. Pixar have been there or thereabouts with every film they have released in the past decade, with hit after hit, and this family adventure is up there with the others, but falls slightly due to an annoying central protagonist and a fair amount of predictability. (I wrote this review back in 2004 and only found it again recently) Before I start on this review, let me tell you that I am a relatively new fan of star wars, so my opinions may be slightly different than those loyal fans who have been with these movies from the very begining. I saw this film a few days after watching the original trilogy, and although I still prefer the original, I think this is amazing too. It is incredible to see Annakin Skywalker as that little innocent boy, and unnerving to remember what he becomes. It goes to show how even the most evil villains began life as a normal person. One of the most poorly constructed and unengaging fantasy films I've ever seen. Also a showcase for demonstrating just how many good actors and actresses you can waste in one go. There are way too many problems with this film to go into, so im just going to say it is a total waste of your time any money.

I had hoped for a less rushed story - more adventures - the cockney beavers gave it some comedy though - a nice touch.

The fact that this has all the surviving episodes of Dads army is worth the 5 stars. Its a shame only 3 episodes of series 2 are there but that is because the other episdoes were lost by the BBC. There are small special features the compliment the episodes. Overall, its brilliant

I received series 6+7 from Amazon on the 18th of August and have now watched all 18 episodes THREE TIMES. I know it may be a little sad, but I am about to start watching it again. Having had series 1 to 5 for a long time, I have been waiting this batch for a few years. This, along with Dads Army, beats anything that current TV can provide. I was very happily surprised that I don't recall seeing any of these episodes before, which makes them even more refreshing. Please encourage the supplier to release the remainder soon. I don't want to wait another couple of years.
