Of all the Prison Breaks, this season was the best so far. On the run, it left far more scope for the heroes to have adventures. Plus, there were some great surprises - not all the characters make it to the end of the season!
I also felt the characters developed more here - it wasn't simply Michael coming up with incredible solutions to impossible situations all the time, but others were allowed the limelight a little more often.
A terrific season which I'm really going to relish on DVD.

Transporter (1) is simply brilliant. Fantastic fight scenes and rollercoaster action that just doesn't stop. Jason Statham is excellent - it's just a shame hollywood is so hung up on always making it's heroes "american" even when they're not! One of the best action films I've seen in years. Transporter 2 isn't as good as the first - it tried to be too much the same film as the original - but it's still definitely worth watching. Get it for The Transporter alone, you won't be disappointed.

Whilst this probably isn't the best western ever made its certainly up there amongst the top flight. It was fortunately made a few years before 'A Fistful of Dollars', which changed westerns and what was expected from them.

Take the classic Kurosawa film 'Seven Samurai' (which is given its due in the opening credits) and reinvent it in the American west. Then add the staggeringly good cast of Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Eli Wallach, James Coburn and Robert Vaughan and what you have is a near perfect piece of Cinema. Some of these guys (like McQueen) were not the bigshots they would later become, but they are incredibly cool. Just a look is enough for these actors. For example, James Coburn hardly says a word throughout the film, and he ... Read More:

I bought this film on the basis of it being from the same team behind tony jaa's Ong Bak and Warrior King, and what a dissapointment! Lets face it none of us buy martial arts flicks for the gripping story so we all suspend our disbelief there and let the action make up for it but this isn't enough! The fights are well choreographed but the stunt men do most of the work for what is a highly skilled, very athletic & flexible, but seriously underpowered female lead. Changing the main charecter from a male to a female doesn't give the film "a refreshing twist" as one review says it just further points towards this film having nothing new to offer which I was really hoping it would. Making her some sort of autistic, handicapped child in need character makes no difference ... Read More:

Being a huge fan of the books, I was sceptical about the films. Sharpe in the books is massive, scar on the face and black hair, with Harper even bigger. However after half the first movie, these issues were soon forgotten. The first movies you can tell were lower budget and not quite up to the standard of the others, but with good acting they got away with it. After the first 2, you see the budget increasing, and with this and a marvellous Hakeswill I really felt a whole new dimension to the novels. Especially at the new price, I highly recommend this series!

have seen this film more than a dozen times and it never stops to amaze me.. the perfect film combination of a history lesson, action/adventure, suspence and romance, cant believe that the oscars of its year missed it.. many great characters with most given relative depth, and a daniel day-lewis perfectly casted, establishing himself after winning the oscar for my left foot and showing of what is to come from him: in the name of.., gangs of ny, the crucible, there will be blood more recently.
A superb multi-layered story, hard and bloody at times but also soft and romantic.. one of the best music scores ever on film (!), visually stunning with breathtaking picture and cinematography, one of these films that makes u think "thats what cinema is all about".. heroic, poignant ... In preparation for the Dark Knight, I had to re-watch this movie, and to be honest I forgot how good it was. These movies re-invent the Batman in a much more realistic and plausible way than the orginal 90's movies. The really changes the way you feel about the character and the setting, it changes from being a comic book adaptation in an over the top Gotham, unbelievable gadgets and unbelievable villians to something that with a little bit of imagination may actually be happening around us. This sets up the history of Batman, and how he turns into the Dark Knight, with believable explainations on his skills, gadgets, costumes, money and alike. This is a perfect start to what I hope turns out to be an excellent series of movies. Well directed, well acted with good (and not obviously CGI) ... Read More:
