Death Note 2:The Last Name(based on the hit anime and manga) starts after the end of the first.Now the game is higher than ever Light and L and working on the same playing field and who ever and the one to lose...will die. Once again the acting is great Light and L and great in this and Misa was even good (a suprise to say the least)even minor cast were great. The only problem some fans of the manga and anime will have is the ending is new but the makers were told to have only two films they didnt have the time to do the whole story. Thus we miss these two from the manga: Mello and Near (N and M) but that isnt a big deal. So any Death Note fan should check out both films they are a treat! ... Read More:

What a fantastic print we now have of this film since the original cinerama has now been restored and the three joins of the original can no longer be seen. Finally the film can be seen in glorious depth and colour with both images in the foreground and background in crystal clarity. A fantastic commentary is also added by filmmaker David Strohmaier, Director of Cinerama, Inc. John Sitting, Film Historian Rudy Behlemer, Music Historian Jon Burlingame and Stuntman Loren James which throws so much new light on the making of the movie. I bought this, because i like the film and it was the extended edition, which i find far more satisfying than the theatrical edition.If it had been the theatrical edition i wouldn't have touched it. The main principle of blu ray is better picture, better sound, which is achieved here. If you only buy films for extras Stick with the DVD, but if like me you just love the film ,then this is top notch. for people to say the picture is no better than an upscaled DVD is a joke, I watched the DVD version and the picture is shocking, one of the worst DVD transfers I think I've seen, its only because I bought a bigger TV that i've come to notice these things otherwise I probably would've agreed it is ... A rousing story about a black platoon facing prejudice and annilation during the American civil war. Matthew Broderick's finest performance as the leader of the first all black regiment fighting the confederates and racism from their own Union army. Supported by the fine Morgan Freeman and Denzel Washington. The plight of these brave men will emotionally move you, possibly to tears, although mine was more of a controlled welling, though my lower lip did quiver when the credits rolled.

Eyewitness descriptions last saw Lieutentant Kipling attempting to bind his wounded face with a muddy hankerchief, scrabbling around in the mud for his glasses. I mean no disrespect to David Haig - I believe his original play did not shrink from the hard truth - however such details are obviously deemed unsuitable for a TV audience, coddled with the prurient drivel of Hollywood action movies. Show us the truth, show us the real truth. Show us a youth dying with half his face shot away. And ask why people need to have obscene events sanitised. I watched the films before and after seeing them again I though I had to buy the sound track brought the sound track and listen to whilst working if you like the filmsand haven't seen the all the way through as until I brought this I hadn't seen all of the second and if you want to see all of them again then buy this you won't be disappointed

this is a top quality starstudded war film based on one of ww2 great cock ups that cost many lives. its superbly acted with loads of top actors there is plenty of action and stunning scenery , its very realistic and is deserving a place among the best war films made.

The Matrix Trilogy must be one of the most significant films of our time, and is likely to go down as an all time sci-fi classic along with the likes of Blade Runner. It is obviously laden with symbology fished from a variety of sources, but I wonder if the Watchowski brothers realised just exactly how powerful a metaphor for our reality they were creating. The central premise that our lives are not 'real' but are steeped in illusion in order that our life force may be fed upon whilst we are enfenced unwittingly like cattle - this is a relevant and powerful message on many levels. It can easily be seen that this is true on a superficial level, with the rampant rise of ultra-aggressive capitalist consumerism, whereby everyone is 'sold a dream' in order to siphon off all income ...
