This film may have had a tad of art to it but for the most part it looked like a practice RUN for "Groundhog Day." I appreciate the differences but there is nothing unique about this movie. The only pleasure is comparing this to the hundreds of other similar movies ("Déjà Vu", "Sticky Fingers of Time", "Happy Accidents", etc.)

The story is very basic; boyfriend loses mob money to bum on subway. Girlfriend (Franka Potente quite hansom if you discount the red hair) frantic to help must RUN to his rescuer obtaining 100,000 Deutschmarks (pre-Euro 2002) on the way. We are treated to several versions and there could have been more.

Following the trend of humpety dumpety style openings, the writers manage to putt smallville back together again, with the character back into their original places. Lana returns, Chloe comes back from the dead *coughs* hiding, and Clark...er...falls back to Earth naked in a field. The introduction of Lois does being some much needed comic relief, and adds a new dimention as Cark is not the hero to her.

The main plot of this season is that of gaining three Kryptonian crystals, which grant the sum off al Kryptonian knowledge to it's possesser.

HOWEVER

This season is GREATLY spolied by the addition of a witch (and her two cronies in Spell), this degrades the entire season, as it's very difficult to except, or even take ... Read More:

Two films mixing adventure and comedy (why can't we make them like this in the u.k.?). Paul Hogan portrays the archetypal aussie outbackman as seen through british eyes, an answer for everything with a dry wit.
In reality crocodile Dundee is a con man, australia's answer to Del boy, as a way of getting free media exposure for his part time business (outback tour guide), he and his partner Wally exagerate a run in he had with a croc, this in turn attracts the attention of a female New York reporter who travels to Walkabout Creek for a scoop.
I won't go into detail, but this leads to various exciting, tense and always amusing escapades both in the outback and New York.
Croc 1 starts in Australia before he is taken to America to cause mayhem on the ... Read More:

A valiant and not entirely successful attempt at a very English 'thinking-man's' epic, Cromwell is one of the most interesting of the historical dramas of the early seventies - and also one of the most flawed.

The first third of the film is very ropey indeed, with banal dialogue full of stilted clichés (the best lines are from history, not Ronald Hardwood or Ken Hughes), a very mannered performance Richard Harris and a clumsy dilution of history. It is only too easy to think that the English Civil War was fought because Cromwell didn't get on with the King's wife and that it was won and lost on the outcome of two battles.

The first battle scene is surprisingly weak - even the extras die unconvincingly - and it is not until its aftermath and ... Read More:

Deadwood puts all the other stuff to be found on the telly way into the shade...in fact it kicks the rest into crapdom. The dialogue here is excellent, the story-lines are believable, intelligent and clever, and the suspense kicks in from the beginning. The characters are superb, human, real. Someone here has made a lot of effort to get things right and should be commended for their work. I will repeat myself here....the dialogue, the script, is excellent. If I could give this 6 or more than 5 stars I then would. Brilliant. Brilliant. Brilliant. Thank you Mr Milch.

The episodes themselves I give 5/5. This is some of the best that Naruto has to offer. They are constantly entertaining and action-packed. Don't worry about that.

The DVDs are, however, a disappointment. They have both the english dub, which is fairly good, and the japanese. However, the subtitles are merely the words of the dub. This means that to those of you who speak japanese and can understand the audio, this is going to grate. It also means that there are times when there is japanese audio but no accompanying subtitle, or vice-versa. The first season box set had subtitles that were translated from the Japanese, why couldn't this one?

In addition, neither the opening nor closing songs have subtitles. Again, the first season didn't have this problem, ... Read More:

I will try not to be too negative.
I found it painful to watch this movie , I mad ethe incredible mistake of reading the book 2 years before I saw the movie and I was slighty worried about the cast but my cocerns turned into nightmares as the caracterisation was totally woeful , john Hurt can be saved with a mildly credible accent and some decent acting.

Kefallonia is a beatifil Island with glorious sunsets and multiple colours to make any cinematographis enterprise shine but the director ( whoever he/ she was ) missed every single oportinity.
The sexual tension between the main actors is non existant and the plot has been "sexed-up" to make suitable to American audiences.

This wasn't a particularly amusing movie and I would say its strongest point was its special effects. The story lacked credibility and failed to draw me into the world the writers had tried to create. This was largely because Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith just didn't seem as scared of the aliens as I think people would be in real life ( particularly aliens this ugly and nasty)and there was no development of characters - their personalities were exactly the same at the end of the film as they were at the beginning.I'd heard a lot about Men In Black and I've gotta say that it is overrated and the 1980s film Ghostbusters with Bill Murray is funnier and way more interesting to watch.

Starting a moment after the season one finale Smallville continues the story of Clark's younger years.

This season really stands out in memory, the sheer quality of the episodes is amazing, there are more memorable episodes in this series than in any other combined. Furthermore there is a movement away from "freak of the wekk" episodes, with several episodes reveolving around the characters and their backstory, not monsters and threats to them.

Clark's identity (as Kal-Ell is revealed to him, as is the fate of Krypton), Pete find oout about Clark's secret, Red K causes havoc turning Clark into a moralless teenager, secrets about Clark's adoption and Lex's brother are revealed, Clark lays on his deathbed and Clark is told to leave Smallville and complete his father's ... Strongman and enforcer Jack Carter (Michael Caine) returns to his native North East (of England) to investigate the suspicious death of his brother. Here he encounter a world of sleaze, booze, violence, casual sex and people in search of easy money.

Hard to call it a classic early British gangster film given that they were so few around, but more a cracking thriller that makes full use of its cast, plot and (unusual) Newcastle Upon Tyne location.

Writer-Director Mike Hodges wanted violence with reality and he delivers it with real punch. Unlike most thrillers bystanders are not immune from the action and at various stages harsh punishment is handed out for minor crimes by anti-hero Caine.

Caine underplays his hardman role nicely - letting the action, rather ... Read More:
