Raiders of the Lost Ark For all the criticisms George Lucas has received in recent times, we must remember that he did manage to come up with this gem of an idea for a perfect action film, and in doing so he created one of the most iconic action hero's that cinema has ever seen. A role perfectly played by its star, Harrison Ford. The script, written by Lawrence Kasdan, is expertly directed by Steven Spielberg, who by this stage of his career was firing on all cylinders. He takes Kasdan's script and perfectly balances the dialogue with the action creating a finely tuned fast paced action film. Every so often a sequel comes along which is head and shoulders above the original. This proves the case. Hellboy II is far superior to Hellboy. Better story, acting and far more laughs. Its a comic book story told the way comic book stories should be with action, great graphics, romance and humour. I love the ugly super-hero idea. Hellboy II doesn't disappoint and I bet you that after watching the film you too will be sing Barry Manilow songs. I can only hope that Hellboy III follows the improving trend.

Let me state straight out that me and my missus like the original The Hulk movie. No, the cgi isn't wonderful and yes, it is a bit talky but it is still, essentially a good popcorn movie. The Incredible Hulk, however, is boring and so cliche-ridden that we almost turned off after half an hour (We couldn't even get our 15 year old to watch it because of the negative reviews his friends had given the film). The director obviously plays on his XBox too much and the film is, as with AVP, etc, etc basically a Video game, and a pretty naff one at that. The Hulk, himself, has undergone an "Upgrade" which shows off every sinue and tendon only to make him ugly (almost as ugly as the monster that Tim Roth becomes - oh and by the way, is the monster a brother ... The main problem with this film is that if you've seen the first then you've seen this one. There is no originality in the script at all which is a shame, because I would say that this film has just killed the franchise. Again Nicholas Cage takes the lead role of Ben Gates in this Tomb Raider type film. Once again Ben and his trusty sidekick Riley Poole (Justin Bartha) and girlfriend Abigail Chase (Diane Kruger) are once again attempting to clear the name of his great grandfather - just like they did in the first film. In this one he (briefly) kidnaps the President rather than the Declaration of Independence, but once again they end up being chased around by the bad guys, while looking for the treasure that will prove his relatives innocence. ... This will surely be the total catalyst for Blu-Ray players to be sold when this superb set is converted to the HD format of Blu-Ray. Overall the movies and sound (real room shaking stuff on a decent surround sound system) even on DVD put anything else to shame.

after the tension created in series 1 and 2, i was hoping a return to the prison escape format would keep it going but this is a step too far. some of the acting by the newer characters is sub-schoolplay level, and has made me seriously consider whether to bother with series 4

I would give this book a five star rating because narnia is absolutely brilliant.whenever I read it I cat put it down that is how good C.S Lewis is.Also ,the drawing's init are excellent.woul recamend this book to people who like adventure stoies.Thebook is fiction and I also love it because it is in a fantacy would but it seams real at the same time.

I remember the first Batman with Michael Keaton playing the part of Batman and Jack Nicholson playing the Joker and the hype surrounding it. At the time I thought it was a pretty good film. Then the sequels happened and various big name actors played the parts of both our hero and the villains. They films got worse each time they mad another. After a few years off Christian Bale became Batman and he plays the part to perfection. This film is even better then Batman Begins (Or Batman 5) and Heath Ledger is amazing in the part of the Joker. It is sad that this is his last film and his greatest performance. The plot is based upon the standard super hero film. The action and sets are fantastic. What sets it apart is Heath as the Joker. Brendan Fraser is King of the late late 80's to mid 90's type of action/adventure film for the whole family to enjoy. There's no blood, no real violence but good clean enjoyable fun with great special FX. The story makes fun of itself by aknowledging the orginal book and by saying that he was documenting real facts and so off go our trio of adventurers to find out. From there its non stop action and some cheesey dialogue but that's what family adventure films are all about. The 3D glasses are fun to try but technology hasn't really came on leaps and bounds but its a worthwhile watch once or twice just to say you've done it and some of the 3d moments are very well done - if not the best 3d effects I've seen. this is one of the best films ive seen all year....for the people that have only voted this 3 stars or less...has problems. the effects are amazing and the storyline is good, i ave watched it twice in 2 weeks because its that good.
