When I sat down to watch this movie, I had no real expectations as the last Hulk movie was very poor, however with the recent spate of excellent Marvel films I was keeping my fingers crossed. Firstly I must say this was a huge improvement from the movie a few years back. The CGI was a lot less obvious and the movie had a much fuller story. Nice cameo from Lou Ferrigno as the security guard and of course Stan Lee. Looked good on Blu Ray, however not as much for me as Iron Man. Major downside for me was Liv Tyler, just didn't find her at all convincing.... to girly, breathless and pouting for a top scientist. I have to admit that I have not had the same issues on the Blu ray as some of the others here. Summary is good movie, just not quite up ... Read More:

I have to start by saying that I enjoyed this film way more than I expected to. Not being a fan of Westerns or Russell Crowe, I wasn't expecting great things, but this film surprised me by keeping my entertained and completely 'in' the film the whole way through. The scenery and direction is superb, the acting is mainly good, the story, although implausible at times, was fun and interesting enough to keep me watching and the overall package makes for two hours of film viewing that is not too heavy and with plenty of fights and action sequences to boot. The actor who plays 'Charlie' is especially good and Crowe even managed to endear himself to me this time. For fans of the genre you may either love this or be disappointed depending on your take, ... Read More:

As other reviewers have noted, there was a general feeling of unease when a small, relatively unknown actor was slated to be the next James Bond. We needn't have worried, however, since all such concerns are dissipated in the first few moments of this latest addition to the Bond stable.

The opening sequence in grainy black-and-white is completely unexpected, beautifully handled and surprisingly gritty, setting the tone for the rest of the film. Within the first quarter of an hour or so we have had one of the most imaginative openings to a Bond, followed by one of the finer title sequences, topped off by a vertiginous (especially in Blu Ray!) chase sequence which may have you gasping.

Excellent stuff from director, cast and crew. ... Read More:

i have just finished watching the forbidden kingdom, and my first impression was, oh god no its in English! all kung foo movies should be in chinese with english subtitles, in my opinion. the one redeaming feature was the action scenes they were pretty good in , just such a shame its been ruined by the Americans, if it had been left to the Chinese I'm sure it would of been amazing, but due to the American input the story line is that of a children's story, i would not recommend this film and i think you should stick to such films as crouching tiger hidden dragon, house of the flying daggers and hero,

It's such a shame that Fox look like they are about to cancel this show as It's the most compelling 45mins on U.S. tv. There's plenty of other reviews so just to note that the U.S. Blu-Ray is region free, and will play on U.K. PS3's and Blu-Ray players, and contains all the extras from the American release that are sadly absent from the U.K. discs. Here's hoping judgement day is put off for another few seasons.

Perfectly written, cast and filmed there really is no television series that can rival Band of Brothers. The Blu Ray release only adds to the experience, the 1080p picture is perfection but perhaps more importantly the DTS-HD sound is simply stunning if run through a home cinema surround sound system, the battle scenes are awesome and the explosions will have ornaments falling off your wall. The sound also brings to life the superb score by Michael Kamen, there is not a finer movie or TV soundtrack around, a true masterpiece. Full credit to Hanks, Spielberg, the BBC and HBO for giving us this classic and absolute respect to the real men of Easy Company, totally inspiring.

I missed the entire Battlestar Glactica oeuvre when it came out (indeed the original series as well) but read so many reviews about the allegorical sophistication of BG, I thought I'd better check it out. The obvious place to start is the 2004 mini-series, assembled on DVD as a three-hour feature (and selling for less than four quid on Amazon as I write). Aficionados claim the series doesn't get into its stride until later, but this was for me an impressive opener. The human species is attacked by the Cylons, a robot-race that comes in two distinctive designs; toaster-on-legs and hot, hot humanoid. Thanks to some sexy treachery involving the latter, the human defences are annihilated leaving a rag-bag of refugee vessels, clustered round the eponymous `Battlestar' a sort ... Read More:

I had heard some bad things about this season of Smallville from various people but personally I found this seventh season of the show to be greatly entertaining and definitely the best season so far. The main addition for this season is the introduction of Kara Zor-El, Clark's cousin and future Supergirl. This season also sees the introduction of Black Canary as well as seeing the return of Green Arrow, Bizarro and Brainiac. The season itself is a lot more story driven than some of the previous seasons, with far fewer stand alone episodes.

The CGI in this season is good even if it is slightly ropey in a couple of episodes and the acting on show is the usual mixture of hammy and great. Having said this, the writing is generally good throughout the season with ... Read More:

If your looking for historical accuracy surrounding tales concerning the myth of Robin Hood and His Merry Men then you will probably be disappointed with this series as there are inaccuracies in both weaponary and costumes(not correct at times for the period being portrayed) This and i cannot stress it enough is not important as the other aspects of the production. The humour is as always enjoyable and there are often one liners made such as Will & Little John after a fight saying "And its goodnight from me & its goodnight from him" Keith Allen as the Sheriff is still superb and so watchable adding a certain twirling of the whiskers. there have been some superb guests appear this season and without giving anything away some serious shocks in the storyline.
