A fine DVD of the classic western famous for the witty by-play between Newman and Redford and the luminous photography by the distingushed Conrad Hall, this has some interesting extras, most of all a rarely-seen documentary of the film with fascinating behind the scenes footage, narrated by the director George Roy Hill.PARENTS BE WARNED!! though;Hill comes out with a few choice expletives during his commentary,so it should not be shown to young children. The DVD notes should've made this clearer, but barring this minor quibble it's an excellent all-round package of one of Hollywood's best remembered westerns.

I was looking forward to this movie, this was one of the iconic books from my childhood. I have to say that I very much enjoyed it, however maybe not as much as the first film. The filming was excellent, with beautiful backdrops and surroundings, very good CGI and good acting. It's been so long since I read the books however, that I can't remember if this was faithful to the original though... will have to re-read them I think! The things that let it down for me were the comedy elements, the mouse-knights and alike fitted very much with a Disney film, however I thought that they were not necessary, and detracted from the story. Also the knights masks were straight out of the 300, thought they could have been more original. Word of warning though, ... Read More:

ITV are to be congratulated on this sci-fi series.
I think it borders on 'going where no man has gone before' and has the potential to become a classic.
Time/space anomalies, ruptures in the space/time continuum, baddies trying to alter the natural timeline for their own advantage and an ideosyncratic bunch of heroes trying to save mankind.
As well as all that it has creatures from the past, creatures from the present and one of the least predicable story lines.
If you're a fan of sci-fi or fantasy this should fit the bill.
Roll on series 3.

Shame you can't give more than 5 stars because this deserves it.
This is one of my favourite series of all time. It follows Horatio Hornblower and his rise through the navy.

Ioan Gruffudd is fantastic in the role, starting out as a green 17 year old, he comes aboard ship. At first his is bullied by other crew members, such as Charlie Simpson (Dorian Healy) but his quick wits and couragous nature soon make him a favourite with his shipmates. Never compromising his honour he deals with every situation to the best of his ability.

Guest stars actors such as Dorian Healy and Andrew Tierman.
Paul Mcgann is, as always, brilliant in his role, as is Robert Lindsay.

Kept me awake well into the night, I couldn't wait ... Read More:

I have seen all the three installments in the theatres right from my early days of school to college days. It was a great adventure to watch. All three movies have independent stories, but the best of them was the "Last Crusade". However, the first one "Raiders of the Lost Ark" is also good. "The Temple of Doom" is not very interesting.
All three movies are the best viewing experience for adventure. However, the DVD pack is not very attractive. This DVD pack contains all three DVDs, with each disc containing special features pertaining to movie, which also includes latest excerpts from interviews with Steven Spielberg and George Lucas. Except for these interviews, nothing new is in this DVD pack. Those of you who already have previously released DVD ... Read More:

I just finished watching the Rocky cycle, all 6! I must say it was excellent watching the whole series. I remember being disappointed by number five especially but it was better than I remembered, especially knowing how it was "top and tailed" by number 6. If you are a woman or male-child (physically or mentally) you may just want to watch I and VI but definitely watch VI again with the commentary by Sylvester Stallone so you can get the depth behind this life lesson.

I'm not going to say too much to anyone new to this series. I'll just say that this is just some of the most exciting and best written / acted TV that I've ever seen. Just brilliant.

Hi Ros,

The American 6 disc version has the following soundtracks:
English-Portuguese-Spanish-Italian-French.
Subtitles:
English-French-Spanish-Dutch(lucky me)-Italian-Portuguese.

The 3-disc UK version has English sound & subtitling only.

Thought I'd let you know, as I know that many Croatians are good at Italian!
If not, don't fret, I'm sure there'll be a multi language Euro version next year...

I completely disagree with the other 2 reviewers... this movie was by far one of Will Smith's better movies in recent years.. he hasnt produced many.. whereas I-Robot for example - it was similar to other movies... but hancock was good because Will Smith played a role that he was good at... comedy...
