This film is amazingly beautiful and just gets better with every viewing, so much attention to detail in terms of sets and costumes. The book on James Bidgood by Taschen describes how it was made and the process is fascinating - it was filmed over a period of about 7 years with each separate scene shot in Bidgood's apartment, which was periodically redecorated with his insane handmade sets (including fake urinals and trees). At one point it was even flooded to film the bubble-bath scene (though that one always seemed a but strange to me since they use a much older actor to briefly play the main character as Bobby Kendall apparently wasn't around, and it looks a bit silly. First let me say that this is the first DVD of its kind that I have bought, therefore I may have been expecting slightly more from it than is advisable from a cheap porn DVD! (In fact, if it hadn't arrived shrink wrapped and from Amazon, I would have been convinced it was a cheap knock-off amateur production). We bought the collection of short stories after watching the majority of other Tinto Brass movies ie Dark Angel, The Key, Miranda. What a HUGE disappointment the short stores are. They come across as very amateurish, terrible stories and acting and the music is enough to switch you off! "Hold my wrists Tight" - Set in a clinic, a story of a doctor who takes advantage of his patient whilst his secretary takes advantage of the photocopier repairer who happens to be female. May sound OK but the production is pretty awful. "What a Weekend" 2 friends meet up, and end up one of them having sex with the gardener. Another pretty trashy low budget production. I am very pleasantly surprised to find out that this extremely watchable film is now on DVD. Anyone who even vaguely appreciates Jane Eyre, will find this DVD absorbing. The storyline is well woven, and the actors complement each other beautifully. The scenery is a great testament to the beauty of Jamaica, and brings an almost claustrophobic warmth into your living room. I was totally captivated by the stunningly beautiful minx of a sexy slave girl Amelie, played brilliantly by Lorraine Burroughs. She is destined to be one to look out for, her scenes were so self assured. If she were to be in a TV series, I would certainly be rushing home to watch it. It is truly a "Must See"
